Defoe wouldn't be anywhere near Sunderland if we went down.
Correct but hypothetically speaking my point is, the league is utter shite.
2 games a week at his age?
Mag?

Would they necessarily need it? A good team spirit and coherent game plan can go a long way even with a team full of unfancied players. There are a load of teams who have come up from the Championship and held their own without massive investment - the Mags themselves even did it with a lot of the squad that got them relegated last time round.
This. After the Halloween horror show I'm surprised that anyone is pursuing this line of thinking really
They won the cup in fifties as well you knowStill mentioning that? Dear me.
It's 100% factual.Lol the thread title![]()

6 in a row you horrible mag tit.Relevant in context of a promoted side being good enough the following season
There's a difference between unfancied players and players who simply aren't good enough. If any of that lot were good enough for the premier league, they'd be playing in the premier league. The fact that no top flight club wanted them tells you that.Would they necessarily need it? A good team spirit and coherent game plan can go a long way even with a team full of unfancied players. The standard of football on display at Leeds today is absolute dross.
Not relevant as you have not yet been promoted. Also, that side was basically the same as the one that had been relegated. You've got a completely different one now so, again, not relevant.

Following that train of thought, the fact that no other premier league club wanted any of our players also speaks volumes
In theory that team was even worse then as it had proven itself not good enough for the prem. Don't get your logic here.

7 of the players who started today were relegated with us last season. Apart from that, completely different.
8 of the players who started in the 5-1 were relegated with us in 2008-09, so it's more or less the same tbf.
