Most Heartbreaking Goals Conceded

Michael Thomas' goal. I remember having to go to the toilet, just so nobody could see that I was about to cry.

Michael Thomas in '92 for me too.

I was heartbroken. I was convinced our name was in the cup that year. They walked all over us after that goal and it was a painful 45mibs watching my dreams slowly and clincally being crushed

The closest one I can remember is Van Dijks equalizer for Southampton last season at the very end. Could have been almost safe without that goal

Good shout that, remember feeling dejected for while about that. Even though I only live a few hours away from Southampton, it made the journey feel like an eternity.

Possibly these three for me.
Football is a reet bastard at times like

Yours???

What is Seaham doing on that first goal. I was young and never noticed it at the time.

During the 15 point season think we conceded 2 late goals against Everton and west Brom. They were sickeners

That West Brom goal was devastating. At that point wed lost all our first five matches but were 1-0 up and in the 4th minute of injury time. Iirc Hoyte had just cleared a header off the line for a corner and everyone was celebrating like it was match saving. Then Zoltan f***ing Gera smacked in a header, and was like all of the air sucked out the stadium, just utter silence. Rarely felt as sick over a goal. Was at a wedding on the night and sat stropping all night.

Aye that's how I remember it too, I was a lot younger than I am now and I remember just walking out the ground devastated. Don't think I've left a league game that devestated, including the 5 - 1 game.

Cant remember the year but was early 90's and we drew sheff wed away in fa cup. At the time they were a top flight side and we were in the second division. We had kept them at 0-0 through some real good defensive performances and tony norman in goal. Last minute and game was dying out untill they put a hopeful long ball into box and norman came out to collect it but he dropped the ball and it wad tapped in. Was only a bairn at the time and was gutted all the way home. That stands out for me but in the big scheme of things has no real relevance.
