They werent big wages in comparison to the premier league is what I meant, as those players were signed in the premier league. As soon as a relegation takes place, players of 8m plus will be on too big money to play in the championship.

Perez signed a lucrative new contract just this summer, hes hardly on a Segunda liga wage now is he. You also gave Tiote a new deal as well so he wont be on Eredivisie wages.

Sissoko Wijnaldum and Janmat will have been on buttons for the average premier league wage, when you go down they are soon the top earners in that division. It isnt my fault if you cant gather a simple fact that the wage players are on are relative to a clubs turnover and your clubs turnover will be very small this season. Add to the fact that Ashley has yet to break even on his initial investment also, so while the club maybe be making "profit" you are still a good 90m in debt to Mike Ashley.

That's not relevant at all. You're just deflecting the debate into something else

Who mentioned wages in relation to turnover? This whole discussion started around me rebuking your suggesting that the £30m profit we have made on players will be eaten away once you take our wage commitment on board with the suggestion that you hadn't taken into account wages that we will no longer be paying due to the players that have left.

Is Perez going to be on more money than Coloccini with this lucrative contract?

You mention Townsend only being there for 6 months but he would still have had a high wage contract commitment should he stayed.

Christ this is hard work

It doesnt have to be mentioned its common sense.

If a Business is paying 75m on wages which you were at the last published accounts and is earning approx 110m and making a small profit. If the next year that turnover drops 100m, its common sense the business is going to break even at best.

For someone whos mocking my lack of insight to the accounts, you were quick to say you had made 30m profit

Considering Colocini signed a one year contract extension at 33, id say its likely Perez is on more money. Townsend was a high wage commitment, but it hasnt been saved, he was a panic signing you hadnt proposed to spend that money because you could have signed him in the Summer if that was the case.

Im not deflecting the debate at all, its common sense. Youve lost a few players but kept a large number of premiership players, you are no longer earning what premiership sides earn. You havent posted profits of 100m in a season ever, yet using your logic if you had kept the 30m profit on the players you sold and recieved premier league income you would be positing 130m profits for 2016/2017?

You made 32.4m profit in the summer of the preseason, since then you have spent 80m, paid a managers severance and paid Benitez 4.5m, yet you are in profit

All this talk of money is irrelevant tbh. They are top of the league and that's all that matters, we can sit here and argue all day about who's on what and who's made x amount of profit but it's a results business and they're getting results, we aren't.

Im more interested in what we are going to do to turn things around, this season has been a disgrace

What even is this? I said we'd made £30m profit on transfers asa throw at comment to the drivel of 'OMG he's spent £50m, it's to be expected' and now we're discussing Benitez's contract and our bottom line profit for the year to come.

So you dont beleive the fact Benitez has spent more than any other manager at that level has any correlation to his expected league position?

You were the one who said you had spent nowt and had actually made 30m profit which is absolute bollocks. You may have a 30m surplus in the fees you paid vs the fees you recieved but does it fuck me youve made a profit.

We don't make £80m on sales, we don't spend £50m.

That's the rub, our spending power is only there because of the players we have sold. That's my whole point. At no point did I mention that the £30m would be our bottom line profit.

Its not the rub though is it. You have Shelvey a 13m signing, Mitrovic a 13m signing, Anita a 6m signing, Mbemba a 8m signing, Colback a lucrative bosman, Tiote on a big contract, Perez on a big contract.

Even releasing the players you did, without any new signings that is a massive wage bill for a championship side. You then added 50m of players with wages to it. You had already spent big money last season, even with the player sales you recouped less than you spent.

Wijinaldum 15m
Mitrovic 13m
Mbemeba 8m
Saviet 4m
Shelvey 13m
Townend 13m
Thauvin 13m

79m outlay roughly, you had spent 20m the season before

You recouped roughly 84m

Townsend 13m
Wijinaldum 25m
Sissoko 30m
Cisse 8m
Janmat 8m

Meaning you had actually made a small profit from the season previously but you then went and spent a further 50m this season, so no your dealings didnt come from your sales, Ashley has stuck his hand in his pocket again and took a risk.
