Lets All Laugh At Newcastle (Again!)

First four (two down two to go) were all must win games based on last season's results. That's just to be in the top six.

After that dismal show, I expect winning at Newcastle is now a must win game for the contenders.

The beauty of this thread is it keeps bumping me back to the original post, which just reminds me of the hilarity of things.

They took ages to revise their realistic ambitions of Top 8 (Nice 1 McLaren) to we will definitely be safe, to we won relegation.

Enjoying this seasons target of we will storm this league as champions, can't wait for that to change to we will definitely be safe.
here's to winning relation again.:p

The chronicle have just replayed the match on football manager and they won 7-0, I knew it was a false win for Huddersfield

That's not peterlee asda is it :oops:
CLS Tesco apparently.

Betting website Oddschecker says: “The Rafa Benitez affect has seen the odds for Newcastle winning the Championship drop from 9-2 to 5-2 to become the shortest pre-season Championship favourites ever. While this may look too short, Benitez’s management experience is a cut above the rest and the players at his disposal will be of a similar ilk.

“Our users obviously think the same as Newcastle to win the Championship is one of our most popular bets today and almost certainly will be going forward.”

Ollie's prediction: 1st
They have the biggest budget, arguably the biggest fanbase and the most experienced and illustrious manager ever to have graced the Championship. They are the ones to beat.

So many of their starting team played in the 6-0 behind closed doors match at our place. Their new captain was at fault for 2 of those goals... They might still go up, but it's not easy in that league by any means.

They should go up with what they have available. It's a hard league but last time we went up I think we were still in the bottom six in November. It is more than doable even if they do the unlikely and struggle for a while yet, although the toxic atmosphere that seems to be always simmering under the surface there won't make it easy.

That squad is seriously bloated mind and they will need to take a hit on almost all of them to get shot.

Anyway, if it goes tits up it'll be all Mike's fault for spending all that money.
When you see the squad that took us up under MM, they should have no worries ! How we got promoted with that shower still amazes me.
The Keane team was better, but due to all the new signings, it didn't get motoring til the turn of the year.
The next 15 days are crucial for the Rafalution. He needs a couple more in, needs to shift a few because as you say, the squad is bloated, and who knows, there could be some late unsettling bids for Janmatt, Mbender and Perez.

Anyone think Newcastle fans are bad you should read RAWK, they have an alternative premier league table they do every season which no one seems to understand what it is except them.

Basically they got 2 points for beating arsenal 4-3 yet Utd got no points for beating Bournmouth 3-1 and as a result are top of the table. Absolute spanners.

I love how they sack the two managers that have the highest percentage because they're not good enough :lol::lol:

They didn't sack Pardew, just hounded him out so that when Palace came knocking he was off like a shot.

Shame that list does not go back further, look on wikipedia:

BSA had a win percentage of 33% with Glen Roeder on 45% (and intertwobob cup winners). They did go through a bad run of games towards the end of Roeder's reign so the stats do not tell the whole story. Though Keegan is still adored after his second coming and he only did marginally better than McClaren.
