Lets All Laugh At Newcastle (Again!)

Wagner's interview is even funnier. He basically said "We usually gegenpress but against Newcastle we were happy to let them have the ball and then transition quickly once they lost it"

Translated this basically means that lower half Championship team isn't scared of letting the Mags have as much possession as they want, as they aren't really able to generate any threat in the final third

:lol::lol::lol:

We did try and warn them about Rafa, told them PDC and Dick kept us up with less games, told them they were a point behind us with a game in hand when he took over with 30 points to play for, suggested to them that maybe because he didn't beat us, Norwich or Villa he maybe hadn't succeeded.
But they wouldn't have it, we were just jealous because we'd lost the rafagation battle, Sam was shit and they'd rather be in the Championship anyway.
Seems reality is emerging

Couldn't have said it better myself

Who else can they blame? Ashley is still investing, Carr has gone. It's Rafa cocking it up for them.
Answered tonight on Total Sport mate. Not Rafa's fault at all (of course). It's all down to last years hero Lascalles. The arm band weighing him down apparantly.

Well I for one rather like Lascalles.

He has been sent down from God as the new Stev:lol:ie Taylor.

Just wish we could play them this season in the cup... if there is a God please.

Disrespect man...

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Betting website Oddschecker says: “The Rafa Benitez affect has seen the odds for Newcastle winning the Championship drop from 9-2 to 5-2 to become the shortest pre-season Championship favourites ever. While this may look too short, Benitez’s management experience is a cut above the rest and the players at his disposal will be of a similar ilk.

“Our users obviously think the same as Newcastle to win the Championship is one of our most popular bets today and almost certainly will be going forward.”

Ollie's prediction: 1st
They have the biggest budget, arguably the biggest fanbase and the most experienced and illustrious manager ever to have graced the Championship. They are the ones to beat.

Teams will just love it if they beat the mags ...after they scored the pen the smug way they grabbed the ball to get the game quickly re started giving the indication they would just go on to win now ..horrible kernts deserved to be beaten ideas right above their station .

The thing about Lascelles is he selected him as captain, if he drops him he's showing he's questioning his own judgement, so my guess is he will continue to play. Champion

When will that BIG Rafa the Gaffer meltdown moment occur I wonder. Keegan love it esq.

Live all over Sky after another defeat away at a wet, cold Burton Albion is a possibility

Good point Janey.

Double wammy. Rather like daring to drop Collo the clown previous times.

It reads

Monday has seen constant queues for season tickets at St James Park, whilst the ticketing part of the official club website crashed as it struggled to cope with demand.

All of this for a club who have just been relegated – only at Newcastle.

This isn’t on the back of outrageous promises of Manchester City style spending or Leicester style silverware…..

Instead, this massive turn around in Newcastle supporter optimism and desire in many cases to once again buy a season ticket after an absence, is simply because Mike Ashley has at last seen fit to appoint a credible manager AND been forced to give him written assurances that he will be allowed to get on with the job as he sees fit.

There are no guarantees that we are going to walk the league, though it would be daft to not accept that the Premier League parachute money gives the relegated clubs a massive advantage.

However, the support of the fans (ED: By the way, the image above isn’t of fans queuing today, it wasn’t quite that mad…) is surely one other absolutely crucial advantage, with Newcastle potentially playing to full houses despite the drop into the Championship.

I was stuck in the queue today for around two hours and whilst could certainly have employed one or two more ticket office staff and poured a bit more diesel into the club website ticket bit – what you couldn’t deny is the mood of those queuing for the season tickets today.

It is all a bit bizarre that and Newcastle had just clung onto their Premier League lives, today’s season tickets going on general sale would have been met with total indifference by the fanbase.

Bear in mind as well that the club haven’t signed a single player yet AND Rafa Benitez hasn’t made any outlandish promises as to what is going to happen in the transfer market – it just makes this blind faith/positivity all the sweeter.

Newcastle hold the record for second tier football, with a mindblowing home average attendance in 1947/48 of 56,299, but United’s 43,384 average in 2009/10 should be well within our grasp despite a 23 home fixture season that will see a lot of midweek games and surefire grand scale meddling by Sky.

I don’t know what will happen after this year but as a season ticket and really looking forward to watch the lads against Burton and Rotherham.

I go to watch Newcastle United and not the opposition, thanks to Rafa Benitez I can once more start going again to watch my team.

They'd have to catch six points up on some teams that they are playing to be top at the end of September

That would be the perfect outcome
Well a perfect outcome is bottom 3 all season followed by another relegation.

Did the presenter ask who put the arm band on him?
