I have read that a franchise T20, will be run at a different time to the domestic T20 already in place.

if we are newcastle knights or the like, that's me out and I will only attend durham domestic T20

f***ing barmy having TWO T20 competitions.

They play too many games as it is, so this is just going to be absolute overkill.
I think the 50 over will revert to straight knock out

can you tell me i was wrong?

Just find it confusing somebody stating 'I haven't even read it but I know it will be shite'

Normally I would suggest to have a informed view on a issue you need to read it first.

Was not suggesting you were wrong, just suggesting you have a negative view on it,before even reading it.

we have a cracking set of t20 lads already from domestic and we won the t20 world cup 2010 without this rubbish.

there would still be hardly any internationals from england playing anyway, which affects crowds now.

most of the main t20 stars played here this year anyway, McCullum gayle, finch, taylor, etc etc and the indian players wont come.

Don't think most of the main T20 stars did play here mind, they were plenty missing who play in IPL (not indians)

Russell,Pollard,De Villiers,Warner,Starc,Watson,Narine.

The idea of all the games played over a set period in the middle of the summer is a good idea IMO,although surely 2 T20 competitions would be a terrible idea as it would be overkill as said.

I wish the ECB would just be honest and say they want a franchise t20 because it will make them more money, instead of the bullshit that it will improve our national side.

Exactly our team was 2 balls from winning the world cup, there is more than enough talent in England, and always will be

And the main reason more big stars don't play all for the whole tournament is because we don't play in a block which we will next season anyway.

To me it's not about helping the national team as agree the benefits of T20 played in a different format will have little or no improvement in our current England T20 team(which is very good as it is)

However it's about the longevity and interest in the game, and the counties having a more financial stable base and there is no doubt whatsoever T20 helps that with relatively small counties such as Somerset and Worcestershire for example selling out all their T20 tickets

Most cricket journalists agree even the traditional old guard that T20 is here to stay and can if marketed right help counties big style.

Rightly or wrongly cricket needs new fans new people interested in the game and if new plans help this that can only be a good thing.
