One thing is for sure - SHORT cannot wriggle out of this one. It will ultimately be his decision and he must accept the flack.
 
Dyche would set the tone for a total lack of ambtition and I would be gutted if we appointed him. He comes across as a good honest guy but as we enter a season with the riches of the new TV and our 10th season in this league, Dyche at the helm would be such a let down. Moyes is the only man and if we don't appoint him I will be completely perplexed.

No chance he'll leave Burnley, he's finally got their owners to spend some cash and he's supposed to be all about integrity. He's a good manager, but his Burnley side last season were almost unwatchable. Think Portugal from Uefa 2016 and that's him in a nutshell! They came to Derby and did nowt for 90 minutes, total Lockout 0-0 then got right under our skin at Burnley and creamed us 4-1. I've a grudging respect for the man but he's perfectly suited to Burnley
 
Shaun dyches scouting knowledge only goes as far as Benidorm that is my main concern
 
As someone already said on here, knowing our luck, we'll appoint moyes and a season down the line Scotland will want him. :lol:

Nobody would dream of leaving a Premier League club to manage Scotland.
Alex Mccleish was doing well with them but he soon jacked it in when mighty Birmingham City came in for him.
 
A big massive "NO" to this idea. Would be a terrible appointment both in terms of not lifting anyone's spirits after the current debacle and in his actual record in the top flight.

If we're going to go with someone without a record of PL success I'd prefer it was someone who's at least pulled up some trees in a top flight elsewhere and who isn't known primarily for how few goals their team scores while being "up for it".

Better for everyone involved if he stays at Burnley.
 
David Moyes has to be our new manager, we'll never get a better chance to appoint him. He's the glaringly obvious outstanding candidate.

I like Pelligrini but I don't know how he would cope without the millions of Man City.

MM did the same here on a lot less, that didn't make him a Premiership manager.

Ha way man mate he's managing Burnley. It's hardly disgraceful management to get relegated with them.

No they wouldnt. . I know loads of people who wouldnt if theyd only been there five minutes or if it meant leaving their employers in the shite and heading to a direct competitor. Act honourably and the (or similar) offer may come round again.
Theres a time and place to walk out on a football job and its at the end of the season not the start of one. Other clubs higher up the food chain note this stuff.

Yep. I've been like a broken record on this score but he's acting like the utter bellend I have always thought he was.

Of course he's a gamble but he's got a good track record to back up why he's worth taking a chance on. You can get big name managers who fail (O Neill, Mcmenemy), you can get gambles that pay off (Keane), it's all a gamble really, look at Villas Boas at Spurs, I think we can take a chance on someone a lot worse than Dyche. At least he'd be coming here on a high, Moyes has been sacked from his last 2 jobs.
 
Think dyche has done an excellent job at burnley, wouldnt mind giving him a chance. My only reservation about him is would he be able to attract a quality player.

Id prefer moyes too but dyche has done enough to at least be looked at.
