No I did think there wasn't a massive amount of difference. The Spurs game was obviously a fluke result (shop window etc). Adds up to an extra 4 points over the season. Just for parity I've not done a check on the Allardyce/Advoccat comparison so feel free.

The Spurs (A) and Liverpool (H) games were fluke results for McClaren. Can I deduct those from his? I'll keep the Spurs (H) in for Benitez as well.

Adds up to a 22 point increase...

What if you take out all the games where Rafa got any points. I think that will categorically confirm he is shit.

Done and confirmed

To be fair to the fat lad even some media wankfest manager like Guardiola would have struggled to keep that steaming turd of a squad up lets be honest.

You didn't, you said 'in 2004', then after that. You isolated 2004 then discussed post that date.

They finished 3rd in the league in 2007, hardly failing imo.

'It wasn't his team' Surely that should be deserving of more praise then, adapting his playing style to suit players not of his own design?

I'm a big fan of his 2016...class!!

Of course he is, Villa are a big club with massive resources for the division. It would be foolish to not consider them a threat.

Especially when he has won the champions league.

When, allegedly, Stevie-G told his teammates to IGNORE Rafa's instructions so that they'd give themselves a chance.

If you take away the Spurs game how do his stats measure up against McLaren's? Genuine question.

In McClarens final 9 games to the 9 games that it took Benitez to get Newcastle relegated, Benitez only played 2 of the teams in the top 10 compared to McClaren's 9 games where he played Chelsea, Arsenal etc.

Especially when he has won the champions league.
Must world class manager to win champions league, its clash of the titans in the race for the championship title this year. If only we won the relegation and could have been part of it :-(

The Guardian and Telegraph now both reporting that Townsend has agreed terms on a 4 year deal.

#StayAndros hashtag worked a treat
But, but The Rafalution man....

Hang on, maybe the shirt was just too big for him and he's taking a step down to a smaller club
