To redress the balance of their football coverage the Chronicle are issuing a 12 page souvenir of the 73 cup victory .

That's the Anglo Italian cup final in which the Mighty Magpies were once again victorious .

I went to all the home ties with my mates and I still have the programs up in the loft.

I didn't cheer though.

:(
I heard the Rangers game was fun .

We should petition the Echo for a pullout
Anyone on here see us lift this prestigious piece of silverware??

Sunderland marked their centenary in style with a memorable success in the Daily Express Five-a-side championships just days later.

Kevin Arnott hit six goals in total as the Wearsiders – under Frank Clark’s control – thrashed Newcastle 4-0 in the semi-final before deservedly beating Brighton 2-0 in the final.

Rangers battered them for 90 minutes in the first leg at Ibrox and should have scored four or five. Instead it was 0-0.
Ibrox was packed with 85000 and I remember getting crushed in main stand paddock.
