There's no point me debating with such extreme bias, so I'm gonna call an end to it here. Feel free to claim the "win" if you want, and call me a mag, or an apologist etc...

Apologist, not a mag.

If you think it's beyond the realms of possibility that Cabaye didn't try very hard to score than penalty then you're much less of a cynic than me.

I'm not confused at all.

That's good, it's all about perception and you seem positively confused to me. I'll try reading your post again.

I didn't even say pound for pound mate. It was just outright worst signing

It was you who said swapping Altidore for Defoe was the outright worst signing? Fair play for not hiding behind a new username I suppose.

Just been to the bookies next door and was chatting to Shirley, (She has come out of retirement and works back there now, 2 days a week, (3 days if Stan is on holiday).

Anyway, we were talking about the mags and that and she looked up that Rafa is 16/1 to be the first manager sacked next season, could be worth a few ££, especially if they lose their first few matches.

Anyone fancy a flutter?
Newcastle 3 points in 10 matches he walks you win

Thank fuck for that.

To summarise:
SAFC stayed up.
NUFC got RELEGATED.

Now just The Fish to say he's giving up......don't think that'll ever happen, unfortunately. He's the maddest Mag I've ever read.

They also had Barton / Nolan / Carroll, players who at least had the gumption to deal with the more physical style of football. Can you see the likes of Wijnaldum being up for it ? Nee chance.

Nah I'm with you thee. I think Wijnaldum is their best player, but he was cack for the last 3 months and I'd be dubious about some of the others at that level like Shelvey who lacks the work rate to play in the Championship (imo)

It's not, but it's a broken argument. You're essentially saying that Benitez's GD was worsening in his 10 games, vs Allardyce's that was improving. Yet you will not countenance the rest of the season or the myriad factors that impact that. For example; Benitez is starting from scratch, without his own players, or time to work with them. Allardyce's final ten games are inexorably affected by the 21 games and however many weeks he's had to work with them. You discount these because it doesn't fit your broken argument.

It's like trying to compare apples and pterodactyls.
What I was saying was whatever Benitez improved he ultimately failed. He had 10 games, Advocaat had 9 games and Di Canio had 8 games. Advocaat inherited us in a far worse position than Newcastle were and in both cases Newcastle had far better players than we had. I understand that Newcastle want Benitez as he seems to wield a bit of influence but so far he ain't done a good job - he failed in what he was brought in to do and many other managers have succeeded in such circumstances with poorer resources at their disposal. We wanted to keep Advocaat because against the odds he saved us, not because of any past record and we were wrong. To me, with Newcastle, it's the perennial desire to be seen as a 'big club' - in the past the likes of Allardyce, Pardew and Hughton were never seen as good enough for Newcastle but if someone who has managed Real Madrid and Inter Milan (regardless of how he did there) then the Mags see it as 'a good fit'.

Aye, if they've got sense they'll shift the ones not prepared to put in the graft required, spend any money recouped on players equipped to get out of that league. Not sure their moronic fans would stand for that though. They've got their top class manager, they'll be expecting top class signings to go with him.

Means he ( the Gaffer) will be off by xmas if it all goes pear shaped:lol:

Has anybody actually seen or heard anything that unconditionally, indisputably states that Rafa has actually sined yet?
