Everyone will raise their game against you as you will be regarded as the scalp in the division. It will lead to a lot of high intensity games - something this year's squad would struggle with over 46 games.
Clickbait is all newspapers go for now it is embarrassing.
It isn't it really isn't, football has been flipped on its head since fergie left man Utd the fear factor of smaller teams going to bigger ones has all but gone out the window. Teams believe they can go anywhere and win now a day. Being well run means little tbh boro say they have zero debt and own everything yet it's took them ages to get back.
I just don't think it will be the nailed on bounce back I keep hearing mags say it will be, I was dreading going down even though we historically we bounce back this time it felt different.
Townsend will be gone, once he gets with the England squad and the tapping up starts. Plus he has a buyout clause, with the inflation we will see due to the new TV deal that clause will be matched by a few clubs
I wouldn't be surprised to see the same kind of changing of the guard we saw last time. The worst offenders will likely be off as long as the figures we're offered match Ashley's minimum valuation. There's talk that we won't accept a loss on Wijnaldum, but I cannot believe that's the case. c£15m on a goal scoring midfielder isn't too much, but his gutless performances will put a few people off certainly at that price.
There's quotes of c£10m for Janmaat?? That's madness, we'd be lucky to get £7m! I'm expecting Sissoko to go for North of £10m, ditto Wijnaldum, just shy of £10m for Krul, £5-7m for Janmaat, <£5m for Cisse & the same for Tiote. We might offload players like Riviere and Gouffran, but it'll be for buttons. If Townsend's camp U-turns and he goes it'll be for £8m
c£50-60m from player sales to be reinvested and a spine of Elliot/Darlow, Lascelles/Mbemba/Dummett/Colo, Haidara, Colback/Anita/Shelvey, Townsend/Aarons, de Jong/Perez/Mitrovic/Perez. That spine has weaknesses that needs addressing (FBs, CM, depth on the flank) but with the money we get from sales we should be canny.
Plus Rafa? That's why we're confident of bouncing straight back up.
Ok for them to say no fire sale but Its whose nerve holds longest. As you say last year of contract makes clubs vunerable as we know to our cost. Sods law that the players they want to keep are most likely to leave, eg TownsendDoubt if you'll get £10m, lucky to get £5m for Krul, into the last year of his contract and been injured for 2 years. Can't seee Cisse joining a PL club, great goalsorer, shocking workrate, maybe China, will be on big wages? Tiote in the last year of his contract, may well see it out! Riviere and Gouffran you may be stuck with as I can't see a PL club buying them and wages too big for anyone else, probably loan them at best. Townsend and Perez will attract interest. Mitrovic will miss 25% of the season through suspension.

In talks with another club as well as Newcastle
How dare you! This is Rafa we are talking about. His good intention is beyond dispute, unparalleled in the game with the possible exception of Neil Warnock.
Don't scare them all with japes of this nature. Rafa is a cert to sign. He is the Messiah.
Krul is rated on the continent. But yeah I figured the minute I put arbitrary numbers in the post people would argue it. The overriding point was that we'll get a lot of money from player sales.
Cisse will go to China (he was expected to go in January) ditto Tiote.
Riviere and Gouffran aren't on massive wages and they're as likely to go to a foreign league.
Mitrovic isn't the liability he's made out to be. He's only had 2 reds and 4 yellows. He's definitely got the devil in him. He got a reputation yellow in his 2nd game, then a soft red against Arsenal (still a red, but one that you've seen players get away with), but after that he got 1 yellow against Stoke and one in the derby.
Mike says the cupboard is bare, not surprised after the 80m spunked on shite, Townsend apartIn relative terms I don't think you will get a lot of money. It's very different when you're looking to offload players. As we've found out to our cost. I do expect you to be paying top dollar for any Championship players you buy, as there will be a premium because you're newcastle. Prices will rise everywhere this summer but you can afford it with the parachute payments and sales. No excuses for not bouncing straight back as far as I can see.
It'll take a good flogging to get any effort at all out of some of those useless fuckers. And those that are on big wages will likely be flogged.
I can't see Townsend staying, best solution would be a season long loan. It looks like he's forced his way into the England squad and he'll want to stay there. He's entering the peak years of his career and has spent way too much time on the bench at Spurs and has already racked up plenty of football league appearances as a loan player. He really needs to play premier league football. A loan spell to someone like Palace, Stoke Southampton, West Ham would let the lad get the standard of football he needs to push himself and stay in the England squad. You'd also get a few million loan fee and his substantial wages covered. If you do come back up he can come back into the fold, you'd have a ready made winger there without having to find one.I wouldn't be surprised to see the same kind of changing of the guard we saw last time. Carrick and Agger would be superb signings for the Championship. Carrick is a possibility (I've heard rumours around this), Agger is highly unlikely
Someone start a thread saying he's not and it will go from there.Surely we can get some sort of rumour going on twitter/facebook he isn't staying. I'm bored as fuck in work so need some entertainment.
If this is true and the news can be broken about 3pm tomorrow that should cover for the lack of football il get to watch over weekendIn talks with another club as well as Newcastle
Are you just being a little tinker...???In talks with another club as well as Newcastle
Same was said last time we went down. Bear in mind the gutless arsehole that took us down then,.
