Lets All Laugh At Newcastle (Again!)

Nope, we definitely sent you down. We needed to beat Everton last Wednesday to send you and Norwich down. We won 3-0 and sent you to the Championship. That's not revisionist, it's what happened. If the roles were reversed you lot would be telling us you sent us down. Shame you can't eh?

Oh dear. It's not all about you lot, old boy. We lost to better and worse sides than you in the 15/16 season, it wasn't just the Sunderland results that sent us down, it was those results and the other 36 too.

It may give your season the cherry on top, and you should enjoy that, but saying you sent us down is like saying you also sent Norwich down, (which I've not seen anyone crowing about thus far) or Everton's performance sent us down (which I've not seen anyone claiming). Charnley, McClaren and the players sent us down, you just got to enjoy the show.

DiCanio and Advocaat managed it...with less games. D'OH!!!
Context dear boy, context.

I know that you will twist logic to fit your narrative but when the great and the good of football say that Benitez didn't have enough time, I'll take their word over a biased Sunderland fan. Carragher said, before Benitez had even taken charge of a game, that he's unsure there were enough games left as Rafa isn't firebrand motivator, he'd need time to turn the ship around.

We went down because we accrued insufficient points over 38 games to end the season outside the bottom three. You can point at 3 games if you like but that's cherry picking at it's worst. We would have stayed up had McClaren beaten Villa and not lost to you, or prevented Everton and Watford from doing the double over us, and so on.

It's revisionist to declare that Rafa was to blame for our relegation, just as it's revisionist to declare that sunderland sent us down.

I understand why you would try to manipulate the facts to show either of these things though, so if it helps, you crack on old boy.

Context dear boy, context.

Nowt to do with context you daft faux-toff.

Newcastle were officially relegated as a result of our glorious win against Everton ......... it's a fact.

Or are you saying that even though you weren't relegated before, but were after, it wasn't that night you were relegated?

If not which date were you officially relegated?

Context? Didn't Rafa have a fairly easy run in which he played Us, Villa, Watford and Palace and he still cocked it up? Rafa failed and the mags can't see it.

 It has nothing to do with context? What a ludicrous statement, of course context is important.

No he didn't.

So, in context, what was the date of your official relegation?

And so the party begins. And the wake. It is barely 15 miles between Sunderland and Newcastle but it will feel like a chasm; a gulf; a million miles; another world almost this morning.

Sunderland are safe and Newcastle United are relegated and this is not the season of all seasons, with the new broadcast riches kicking in, to be banished from the Premier League.

 What a spectacular misunderstanding of context.

"So, in isolation of a decade's worth of context, talk about this specific date in this specific season... in context"

Good grief man, this is the pointless pedantry over my casual use of "everyone" when clearly I should have said "anyone you brought the subject up to and then asked their opinion on".

Hard to think of anything more inane than going on a rival team's messageboard and making convoluted overlong posts about how we're incorrect to laugh at them :oops:
I'm afraid your colleague Reiver makes pithy comments impossible; his pedantry requires a meticulous use of language.

You're saying Sunderland didn't relegate Newcastle, so what was the date of your official relegation?

Stop being endlessly pedantic and answer the question.

I'm happy to go through this, again, but I'm sure your more reasonable colleagues would love a day without the same discussion repeated?
They are not my colleagues.

But this is an easy one, 3 points away from safety and you got 5 points out of the 12 available to bottom 6 teams.

Aye but Norwich aren't an absolute pack of c*nts like you lot are, why would we gloat about relegating a non-pack of c*nts?

Dear boy, it's not I who is being pedantic, but you. I'm stating that Newcastle United were not relegated because of sunderland's results, they were relegated because of their own. We only accrued 37 points from a season of 38 games. Less than a point a game is going to get any team in trouble. We've failed to address key weaknesses in our side for several transfer windows, we've not appointed an actual manager until too late to fix the broken side that previous incumbents exacerbated .

Yet you are arguing that all of this is irrelevant and the only reason Newcastle United were relegated in the 15/16 season was because Sunderland AFC beat Everton. Quiet now, you're being ridiculous and embarrassing your more reasonable colleagues.

Aye but Norwich aren't an absolute pack of c*nts like you lot are, why would we gloat about relegating a non-pack of c*nts?
Thanks for the helpful insight.
