Really don't care. We have a respite from them lot as they spend at least a season in a lower division. Expect them to come back, but would expect that anyway regardless of Rafa or not.
Yes. I expect Warnock will bring them back up. BUT there's always that teeny-tiny fun chance they'll fuck up again :p

While I think that he'll get them back up, I genuinely dont see him as the best man for the job. Think they'd have a lot better chance with Pearson.

They're squad is decent on paper, but it was decent on paper this year and look what happened. They need leaders, that league is f***ing shit but its f***ing hard to get out of. Players like Perez wont like it. Need some battlers down there - I reckon Mitrovic will rise to it.

It'll be interesting to see who leaves as well, a lot of them are coming out and saying they'll stay.

This plan to keep him also involves grander plans following their PL return - Rafa likes spending money and Leicester aside, it takes serious money to get a top 6 team....

What part of there squad is good

My source has text to say Rafa is meeting Lee Charnley to discuss terms on Monday. Should be signed up by about this time next week...

When asked about Rafa, Bolo Zenden on TalkShite this morning said it's not as easy getting out of the Championship as people think. (Bolo worked under FSW at Chelsea, iirc). Also said Sam had work to do. Balanced response, tbf.

He's in negotiations as he wants assurances fat Mike won't throw a fire sale of the full squad and that he has financial backing.
Scenario 1
FSW: tell me if you're going to sell off my best players, please.
MA: Yes, I'm going to sell them.
FSW: fuck it, I'm off.
Scenario 2
FSW: tell me if you're going to sell off my best players, please.
MA: No, I'm not going to sell them.
FSW: Good lad, I'm staying.

How long does that take ?

It's definitely a good idea to take Mike Ashley's word at face value.

If we'd gone down I'd expect us to come straight back up and think Newcastle will, no matter who they bring in.

For me that's not the issue ........ it's that, from their early season £80 million arrogance, they've suffered the humiliation of relegation

Their shameless sucking up to Ashley, after his trophy & PL promises, means they can't even console themselves by turning on him as usual.

They daren't say a single word in case he ends their pre-teen love affair with Benitez.

My thoughts are more with Sunderland, Allardyce & Short, whichever players they bring in and how we progress. Watching the Mags puffing their chests out, at Rotherham, and acting as if none of this has bothered them will be a laugh. But Newcastle will just be a sideways source of fun watching them playing at home to the likes of Burton and suffering the occasional embarrassment.

If Benitez comes in they'll have to totally hand over the club to him and keep their fingers crossed that he doesn't buy the wrong players and fail.

If they come back up we'll have a year on them and need to make it count, especially with the financial advantage we now have.

Despite what's being said Newcastle are a club in turmoil.
They have ridiculously highly paid players who obviously want away, more highly paid 'unsaleable' wasters, a mad imbalance throughout the side and a 'strike force' that's a mixture of the offensive and the ineffective ........ whichever manager gets Ashley's pieces of silver they have a massive job on their hands.

For once Sunderland aren't in turmoil and can calmly add good hard working players who actually want to be here .......... Haway Sunderland.

Need contracts drawn up.

Or would you just trust Ashley's word?
