from the games i watched he was the main difference keeping the mags in touch, the rest seemed to have little fight or belief in them and i can see mitrovic picking up a few reds when the championship defenders are hassling him, besides, if a premiership team comes in for any of them they will be off unless the wages they are on now are astronomical.

Wijnaldum and townshend made them have a threat going forward. Got fuck all else in my eyes. Defensively poor. Midfield is average but inconsistent and attackers are shite.

There is no way that Newcastle should have got relegated imo, but McClaren is a special manager...

If they lose Perez & Mitrovic I'm not sure where the goals will come from up front, and losing Wijnaldum, Sissoko and likely Townsend will make them pretty functional & predictable.

Benitez will make them a solid outfit mind, the likes of Elliot, Lascelles, Anita, Colback, Dummett will be decent down there defensively, with Shelvey in the middle.

If as expected they lose their "flair" players they could be dull as fuck to watch next season. Won't be easy bringing quality in...

i honestly do not think they were 'decent' the last time they went down, seemed to make really hard work of it and got a damn good run of luck...i would not say any relegated team (us included had we dropped) will have an easy time of it, even one season in the premier will be a massive bonus for most and they are all fighting hard for that income.

i know that and i watched a good few games, maybe 2nd half of the season they did pick it up a bit but especially early season they were shocking at times...could be a very slightly ever so biased view mind ;)

No doubt we started slowly but we only lost 4 games all season and lost 1 in 33 at the end of the season.

its almost like the mags think theyre getting a rafa guarantee (top 6 or your money back)
forget getting out the championship.... thats a given

No way that if the club don't know then this bloke will know either. All just speculation based on what he has said already. For all anyone knows he may have no intention whatsoever and is just stringing them along. He's not going to give any clues he's doing that in case he gets rumbled.
