Maybe the lad who suggested it first didn't know this, was the first one that came to mind or maybe had a reason behind suggesting it? As you can see, there are also options in a poll now apart from the foundation.

I'm not knocking whoever suggested them. They're an obvious choice.
Personally I've done a lot of fundraising for smaller causes so that's where my heart lies.

If you have any in mind ask @Keith S30S to add them to the poll?

I have nothing against the foundation getting the money, however well funded they are at least it will go to local causes.

I changed my vote to the Mascot's who lost their dad, my only concern with this is would they want something as public as this could turn out to be?

Can't wait to to see their little shrunken heads howling at the sky, raging at the beast in the sky

I merely think there are other causes out there that would benefit more and be more appreciative.
They do great work in the community but the foundation are a million pound plus operation.
I prefer to do fundraising for smaller causes that need the help more.
I would tend to agree. But to pick a smaller 'specialist' charity would take a week to decide upon I suppose.

Maybe could have worded it better like. ;)

I voted for them too but maybe it shouldn't even be an option without having been in contact with the family first, even if it has been done with the very best of intentions.

Getting a bit of grief on the Chronicle website. I can't be arsed to go through the whole thread but can anyone shine a light on the below?

The same supporters who have organised the plane are the same ones, in the same conversation on RTG, who are saying we've forgotten about the money which was raised so we deserve it. While you're trying to make this into some light hearted banter, the actual tone is slightly more vindictive to the point that some of you fellow forumites on RTG are hoping it goes over at the 17th minute to make it worse.
I'd never want that to happen and if it did I'm sure it's an honest mistake. I have noticed 1 or 2 people on here wanting that to happen which is pathetic really crossed the line completely. The plane has nothing to do with the tragedy.

I've posted this many times but they are hypocrites, they made two magazines about our demise, haha banners, Murray in banners. The amount of bile that is spouted at SAFC and the city of Sunderland by their fanzines ie the chronicle and Jim Branning's True Faith is disgusting. Their airport criac is boring.

The SAFC fans taking the so called moral high ground, ask your yourselves, what would they do if we were relegated and they stayed up?

This. When I saw it, it was a real tug at the heartstrings, but a lot of people are trying to make the plane thing controversial, and as a result they need to be consulted d.

He's now obviously deleted that tweet I think and tweeted this earlier today

So the banner has been prepared for it's fly over SJP. Lack of class and the whole premier league is cringing.... http://fb.me/7lswy9bjC

He's already been picked up on it in the tweet from today and that snapshot is real as here's that Facebook link along with a few comments from various Mags!
