Lets All Laugh At Newcastle (Again!)

Where do you get that £200m figure from?

Drop in TV revenue by £85 million
Drop in sponsorship
Drop in Merchandising and sales
Massive drop in the club's value
Mike Ashley refusing to invest more

As much as Newcastle do have a chance of getting back up if they keep things in order, you are deluded if you don't think your club will take a huge financial hit from it. Something has to give, you simply cannot afford a team as overpriced as that on wages that huge in the championship.

Newcastle's players are not even as great as you make them out to be. NUFC players are always overrated because of the inflated image of the club. If they are as good as you say they are, then you wouldn't have been relegated...

His price tag will scare off quite a few, plus he's not losing any money by playing in the Championship so I doubt he'll be off.

See, I don't think Mbemba will definitely go, and if he does we'll get enough to buy a Centre Back like Dunk for c£5m which is more than good enough for that league. Lascelles has been decent and will be better in that league with more games under his belt.

We don't have Carroll, but we do have Armstrong who's been scoring for fun in League 1. Like I said I don't see Mitrovic going, but similar to Mbemba, if he does go, we'll get enough to buy a striker who'll score enough to get us back up.
Hasn't Armstrong just scored his first goal in about 3 months?

What are you thoughts on Shelvey? To me he seems to have been somewhat toxic, looking at how things turned sour @ Swansea and how they're performing since he left. As well as how Rafa has left him out? Something isn't right with him...

As for Townsend, I imagine someone will come in for him, even a promoted club potentially, would be very surprised if he's still there next season.

Weekend Millionaire type. He's got the talent but not the application. Him and Janmaat would be class for a midtable side that has a core of grafter around which more talented players could thrive. But the wrong player for a relegation scrap. I understand the thinking; he's a player tha can spray the ball around and is a threat from set pieces. But unfortunately he hasn't the application.

Townsend is complicated. Goes to the Euros and plays well and he could attract a team like Crystal Palace, Southampton or Swansea, but they may be dissuaded by an inflated pricetag. Goes to the Euros and does shit he might still get some Premier League attention but he may prefer to have one easy season in the 2nd tier with a side likely to win the thing, rather than playing for a relegation candidate in the top flight. He might hanker for a move if we employ some f***ing chump, but if Rafa stays (he won't) he might stay. Six to five and pick'em.

Despite what the Daily Mail has told you to entice you to click on their page, we 100% can take a year in the Championship, you've got bear in mind we're not losing £100m, we're missing out on it. That's not the same thing. We don't rely on the tv money entirely. Don't get me wrong we'll be a distance behind the teams who've survived, but the standard of players don't improve proportionate to the money you spend. If we were in debt, making losses, then yeah I'd be concerned. But we're not and we're not so I'm not.

We will sell some players and we'll release some (Colo, Taylor, etc.) we've already got shot of a couple of fringe players as well.

Don't worry about us, we're financially sound.

He's still got 1-2 GpG which is not bad.

Assuming those players go (along with some others) it would leave us with

Elliott/Darlow
XXXX Mbemba Lascelles Mbabu
Colback/Anita XXXX
XXXX de Jong Perez
Armstrong
The Spine we had last time was

Harper/Krul
XXXX Colo Taylor Enrique
Smith Butt
Nolan Barton Jonas
Ameobi

Most people thought the 3 foreign lads would be off, but suitors were scared off by their wages, their previous poor performances and their transfer fee. For the same reason I could see us hanging onto Mitrovic, Townsend, Shelvey.

I don't think Rafa will stick around.

That team at the top looks f***ing awful

I'll have a guess -
1. they were unlucky
2. we are very lucky with lots of hilarious references to ''hippo heed''
3. airport
4. champions league references inc milan
5. always be the biggest club in region

Was I right ?

I haven't even looked but I'm going to say "yes".

By all accounts he's a right nasty piece of work. It's no coincidence that his last two clubs couldn't wait to get rid of him. Did it not seem strange at the time when Swansea sold him to a relegation rival ?

No, because you will already lose the existing TV money! There is a financial gulf between the premier league and the championship.

.. a sunderland fan criticising a team of Newcastle players? Say it ain't so

Rang alarm bells with me certainly, but you know what it's like when a new player has a few good games. You suddenly think his old team was mad to let him go. Few more games as he slowly completes his transformation into the invisible man and you realise they weren't being bitter at all.

I'm sure there were people cockahoop at the Lens signing?

Fingers crossed that's the spine of their team next season, weak as piss and they'll get kicked to fuck in the championship
I'd hardly call Mbemba, Lascelles, Colback, Perez or Armstrong "Weak as fuck" mind, but I suppose an objective view would be unexpected.

I'm mustn't be explaining myself clearly enough.

Essentially, the stories you're being told about us being financially fucked aren't true. Take a wander over to the Swissramble site, or simply the Deloitte richest clubs on the planet list. Financially we're fine, it's just on the pitch that things are poopy. :D

Perez, Armstrong, colback, Anita, de Jong are all very lightweight, any of them even 6ft?

£8m buyout clause widely reported by 'reputable' journalists.
