Newcastle Manager Situation

Well that has sealed newcastles fate now......... they are as good as gone.

Should have kept McClaren, always a slow starter..... remember at Middlesbrough he almost got the boot but then won the league cup and got to uefa cup final for them.

As he has said all along judge him after 38 games

Bad day for nufc imo.

TBH I don't rate many of these big name managers, I could do well with 300million to spend, the real managers are the ones that have to scrap around saving a team from relegation every year, working with mediocre players. Benitez will now have a change to prove his worth as a manager but I would take Big Sam any day over him in this situation. I still fancy them for the drop and us to stay up.

Sam Allardyce said:
"I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn, I would be more suited to Inter or Real Madrid," Allardyce said. "It wouldn't be a problem to me to go and manage those clubs because I would win the double or the league every time. Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn't be a problem. It's not where I'm suited to, it's just where I've been for most of the time.

There's a reason why the 'big name managers' are in their jobs.

We'd wank ourselves silly if Benitez was coming here.

This changes nothing we still have the get the results, can't just rely on Newcastle and Norwich.

People keep saying that. Of course it matters... we must finish above them and now theyve gone from certs for relegation to having a good chance with their fixtures

If Schteeve was not meant to be, then Rafa Beneathus is a great choice for manager. A manager proven to be incapable without a transfer window in which he can buy 60 players, a manager who unpicked a hugely successful Inter Milan side and a manager who made Bale and Ronaldo look like Basilla and Miller. Excellent choice Agent Ashley, excellent indeed.

They're only hiring him to win the Derby, paper over the cracks!

I would rather it wasn't Rafa. I think he will do well. A lot better than Allardyce for us.
What's SAMs record like against Baneetizzz leek?

TBH mate, the very last thing those players need is more 'visions, tactics & theories'.

They looked so confused against Bournemouth even Shearer was shaking his head.

Benitez will be speaking as if the players are Real Madrid when it's the likes of Taylor, Mitrovic & Colback.

I truly believe he'll make matters worse.

Everyone seems to be looking at the dark side of it, new manager means mass improvement.

Summed it up, spot on. Mourinho, Benitez, Guardiola have only ever known top end jobs. Give them lower league and their rep would crumble.

I'm fairly objective when it comes to Newcastle so I'm not just saying this because he is going there, but I really wouldn't, I'd be relatively cautious about it. There's something about him that I'm just not sure about. I think he has managed to stumble between top jobs based upon his European record, but he rarely seems to leave clubs in a decent position.

His cup / tournament record is very good mind. No disputing that

But McClaren being sacked possibly is.

It's not just new manager bounce, it's sacked manager bounce if anything that affects players more. It happens quite a lot but then many teams fade off again after a few games if players lose the euphoria of a shit/disliked manager leaving as the new one can't maintain it. It not only happens in football, it happens in other businesses surely as I've experienced it twice, once on a production line and once in the offices when a team leader/manager leaves and you suddenly feel so relieved and willing to put a bit more effort in again.

Chelsea showed it this season as they changed as soon as Mourihno was gone. Obviously Hiddink is a manager who could maintain the level of morale, mentality etc in players along with decisions he makes and they're unbeaten since then. Newcastle don't have the calibre of Chelsea players but they have shown signs of a decent team when they can be arsed and Rafa as a new manager is an improvement over a defeated McClaren.

As I said, they could bring in Whey Aye Man as a manager and the Mags will still put more of an effort against Leicester and us than they would if McClaren was still there. It's then what if Rafa does keep that morale, mentality, increased work rate etc positive (which he will be capable of) for the rest of the season that is a possible concern. Yet some are saying he failed here, there etc so will fuck up at the Mags. It's impossible to know what will happen but to write him off already is just f***ing stupid and head in the sand opinion.
All this doesn't matter if they respond for the first 2 games. They'll move nicely above us, and stay there. Its the new manager bounce at just the right time for them, wrong time for us.

Makes you wonder why Man City didn't go for Chris Wilder instead of Guardiola. Honestly man, what a heap of shite.
