Newcastle Manager Situation

I don't mind admitting that the change in management has made our chances of stopping up look much harder imo.

The have Villa away which in itself should be a guaranteed 3 points for everyone who plays them. Still haven't given up hope or owt but it would have been much better if McClaren had stayed on.
Villa won't lose every game, we just have to hope they get one of their draws/wins against the mags

By all accounts, the man has very limited ability to bring the best out of his players and thats exactly the quality that is needed in the role he has taken on. It would take a number of months for his supposed tactical nous to be displayed so I cant see him making that much of an impact.

That said, it would be very difficult not to be an improvement on Mclaren.

He is a canny manager - it will make our plight harder than what it was - he is significantly better than Tufty.

We have to really make sure we maximise our "winnable" games now.

TBH I don't rate many of these big name managers, I could do well with 300million to spend, the real managers are the ones that have to scrap around saving a team from relegation every year, working with mediocre players. Benitez will now have a change to prove his worth as a manager but I would take Big Sam any day over him in this situation. I still fancy them for the drop and us to stay up.

Them sacking McClaren is the biggest threat to us regardless of the new appointment.

It's already lifted their spirits, you can tell because they're all crawling out of the woodwork on here.
