What's the hold up here? Just came on here now for some news as i've been busy all day and can't believe they haven't sacked him yet!

just a theory ... but its all smoke and mirror prior to somebody else being offered the job
the media seem convinced yet it doesn't seem that close. where is the tangible evidence spanish radio... spanish rag??
after the semi debacle at madrid, does he want more grief at the mags?

This wind up is epic by Ashley and crew.

It will be high comedy when Benitez and the others tell them not a chance and Phil Brown is in charge for a short term contract with view to permanent if he stops them up... starting next Thursday...

No fan of McClaren but this is one shabby way to treat a manager. Could he just quit and sue for constructive?

I think it'll happen now to be honest. I'm not necessarily saying it'll work, but it will happen.

I can't see that NUFC have treated anyone baldy. This is all media supposition and hyperbole. NUFC have said nowt, iirc.

its possible but ... if he was that keen and mclaren is that dead, deals dragging; why ?
the biggest problem i see, is that everybody can see the problems with their defence and attack.
the best coach in the world can only do so much... and building a coherant unit greater than the sum of it parts takes time

Why bother, he's going to get his three year contract paid up anyway.
Maybe the smiles yesterday were because he thought he was going to get 3 years pay for less than one years work. The look on his face today could be because he has been told he's going to have to see his contract out.

Rafa Benitez was once declared too fat to manage Sampdoria, anyone scared of him needs their head looking at.

If it happens and he pulls them out of the shit, it will be reported as the greatest of great escapes. The media wankathon will be unbearable.
