Newcastle Manager Situation

I'm not rewriting it at all. They were out at the last 16 stage until Gerrard hit one in the last minute. They were also dead and buried until he hoyed Gerrard up front (yes, it was his decision). He did really well, I'm not denying it. Though, I think that amazing night in Istanbul (which should have been done by half-time) has provided a far more romantic view of him.
Di Matteo also won The Champions League on penalties.

And what about 2 years later?

It would be just as laughable to dismiss his influence(and carraghers) at the same time

I haven't, but as I said they achieved fuck all after he left.

He was key to them, they have said it themselves more times than I can remember

Sorry to win the Champions League with that Liverpool side was an unbelievable achievement, the one that got to the final 2 years later still had the likes of Pennant and Crouch in, seems unthinkable now when managers feel like they have to spent £200 million just to get top 6.

As things stand McClaren hasn't been sacked, Benitez remains in Liverpool & still hasn't talked to Charnley Both things need to change

so they havent even spoke to Benitez yet :confused:

The most important attribute a manager going in at this time can have is man management skills. I can only recall players who have played for benetiz in the past as slating hus man management skills.

Yes, again he did really well to get to he final. David O'Leary nearly managed that mind.

3pm update: Told that Steve McClaren still not heard anything from bosses. Preparing team for Monday professionally until otherwise

He'll be out by the weekend. They're just waiting on Rafa to finalise terms more than likely
