Newcastle Manager Situation

Not Norwich it's not. You have a game in hand so win that and yes it is in yours (depending on the Derby result) if Sunderland win every game no matter how good Newcastle do they won't pass Sunderland.
So it's not in your hands really

We win all of our games, we stay up
You win all of yours, you stay up.
Norwich win all of their games, they stay up.

I'm not saying he'll do well at the Mags, and his record since leaving Liverpool has generally been patchy.

But to try and dismiss his success at Liverpool is ludicrous, he was very impressive there and is very fondly thought of by fans. He had a nightmare in his last season but his five prior years was consistent, year-on-year improvement. A lot of people dislike him as a person (because he's a tool, to be fair, although so is our manager) and let this disguise their opinion of his record at Liverpool.

I see where you are coming from but his reputation is from way back(in football terms) and he has done very little of late to enhance it. He has no experience of the mags current predicament nor the unique skill set needed to succeed ..... As much as I dislike FSA he is much better suited to this situation than benitez
No idea tbh has Benitez ever been I this situation? He has always struck me as a pragmatic manager.

Adds more spice to the derby and Rafa will be more interest in the huge wage packet he'll be getting is my hopes I stead of focusing on relegation battles. Redknapp, not a good example I'll be honest but was good at Spurs and took QPR down twice due to inexperience in relegation battles.

Good point, has Benitez ever had such a weak side which he had to motivate in such short space of time?

I was anxious for the derby before this, but now I think I'm going to need some medication for the anxiety

So not in your hands. You are depending on other results. Like I said depending on the Derby result. If you lose the Derby and win every game after it will mean fuck all if Sunderland win every game after

Are you dense? We win every game, we stop up. Simple.

Therefore it's in our hands.

I think its just a new manager who will go back to basics might get them a few wins, its not even really about Benitez, I just think someone compitent might give them a boost

Di Canio kept us up for god sake

Big Dick is probably a better example, experienced manager, not used to relegation fights and wasn't the answer long term, but he used common sense more than anything to organise the side

Benitez might be a total disaster, but my worry in all of this is that we did reasonably OK in the last 3 games but didn't get the points, we should have a cushion ahead of them for this very scenario, but we blew it, and now are only 1 point ahead.

What in both seasons they got to the final, you build your team around your best players, this is not even about Newcastle now, but no point in saying he wasn't brilliant in those spells in Europe, he was! Don't rewrite history man.
I agree we've done ourselves no favours in those last three games and I see your comparisons with DA but I don't think enough of them are up for the fight in the same way we where at the likes of arsenal last season....... And most importantly of all they lack the one most important thing and that's a goalscorer, they don't likenus keep clean sheets but they've no one consistent at the other end of the pitch to make up for their defensive failings

That will be why Liverpool fans (I know) revere him so highly. 'Done just enough'
Tbh the dippers fans are hardly known for their balanced judgement you'll still find plenty of them wanting him back so they can return to their glory days...... Remind you of anyone;)
