Newcastle Manager Situation

They're dragging their heels for some reason. One journo said on twitter yesterday that there is support for Maclaren high up, and that thats a stumbling block for him getting the bullet.

I think if he was going to go, they would have got rid yesterday. Hope I'm not proved wrong.
They're just making sure they get a replacement before he goes, otherwise they'll have to call up Carver

The players know there is a high possibility he could get sacked, or he might not get sacked or even if he does get sacked the players knew it was a possibility in the first place but he's still taking training.
Whatever happens that's motivational skills of the highest order ;) :)
My head is f***ing spinning reading this post:lol:

Yes I heard Ashley spoke to a journalist saying he was backing him but I'm not so sure, spending £80M and sitting in the bottom 3 must be worrying for him.

I honestly think he will stay. If he goes it will be April 2nd after the Norwich game if results dont go their way

Are they suddenly going to be able to defend like?

Maybe not but they will be up for a fight. Plus with our long ball tactic we will just keep booting it up field and letting them come on to us. We can't be fend either

In a lot of sacking cases, the manager is sacked as soon as the decision is made (or as soon as his position is untenable as was the case at 4.50 on Saturday for Tufty) whether there is a replacement lined up or not. I think in this case they think sacking without a replacement is worse than keeping him in charge, which I would probably disagree with. The delay must be getting a replacement lined up, and the longer it goes on, the more his position is undermined. It would be even better for us if their preferred candidates turn it down and he stays in place.

What they say on Twitter

Business as usual is it ?, your accepting relegation are you ?. As fans we should LETS GET THIS GOING !

This bit right here. How many of the managers listed would want full control over all thing to do with the first team? All of them to me, so unless Mike is going to change his whole strategy, none of them are coming.

This. They need a major shakeup of the management before any real work can be done on the team. That means the bloke who picks the team should be the one buying players. It's not rocket science.

thats even if there close to finding a mad enough kamikaze pilot willing to take on this suicide mission....

Absolutely mate. Imagine having less than a week to; take the job, get to know the staff and the players and work on tactics before the biggest game of the season where the fans will be nervous as anything?
If he doesn't win the derby, he's on a loser straight away.

I certainly wouldn't fancy it with their defence.
