Newcastle Manager Situation

Approaching managers like Moyes, Pearson, Benitez is all very well but it doesn't mean they'll come to such a rotten club.

I remember when they claimed it was one of the top 10 manager's jobs in the world

Back or sack?

The fact that – that club of black and white – somehow limped into Tuesday striding some kind of third way is entirely typical of the reign of . When the Magpies have needed decisive, definitive action they have pursued an opaque middle ground which is no good to anyone – least of all who is witnessing his authority eroded by the second.

In the poll at the bottom of the page, I voted to keep McClaren.

He hasn't had long enough with this group of players to ...errr... make a ...err... real impact.

I suggest you all do likewise.

Whooooooaaaaa. Shhhhhhhhhh. Dont be spreading things like that around. you might give them ideas.
tbf 95% want him out based on the online poll but I think the 5% are Sunderland fans so think it is probably 100% that want him out!

Surely a Dads Army mock up would have been better.

When he does end up going will he ever be able to get another job in football?
Football is full of jobs for the boys. Someone will give him coaching work, but I doubt he'd manage at a decent level. If I was him I would fuck off somewhere hot with my payout and never come back.

The OP would usually, at this point, take some time out to congratulate the fans of the other club he is discussing.
Goooo on man biggsy.

like a drifter he was born to walk alone

Erm Mike u got Moysies number think he's still on his old Spanish mobile
Na forget him he was a failure over there , how's about Jose he's out of work and would love to manage a club like this in front of 56000 screaming idiots .
Tried him mike he's waiting until the summer . How's about Pepe ?
Contract agreed with Man City but maybe we could gazump them .
Na wouldn't like it done to me , hang on what about ringing Alan and Joe for advice .
Hmmm !

For a club in that position it is a very difficult call. Do they sack and potentially get a new manager boost to save them or stick with Steve? We know that boost has saved us a few times, but then we have also struggled to attract a manager of decent quality.

Take the likes of Moyes. He had a great name in England with Everton, but his performance at Man U tarnished that. Newcastle have big problems, the most notable being lack of fit defenders. The best manager in the world can't made defenders from nothing. If Moyes took over there is still a very good chance they would go down. Would he want that on his CV?

I think they will struggle to get any quality in and be forced into a stop-gap measure. Shearer to return?

Matter of time before he was sacked really. I am utterly amazed they haven't done it before now, he's so far out of his depth it's laughable.

He's probably left to go to the board meeting.
