Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Not at all. AJ is responsible for this and will spend the rest of his life in torment one way or another.

Essentially, I'm objecting to the use of emotive language like nonce etc. This is purely a case of sex with a girl who was a few weeks from being legally able to make an informed choice, it's not molestation in my book. Denmark - legal. UK - he's labelled a 'child molester'.

The EU should look into raising the age to 18 IMO. At the very least, the whole thing needs a review.
As someone who was sexually assaulted when I was 15, may I say fuck off, fuck completely off, fuck totally off, and then fuck off again.

He must be a mag. f***ing magedia
To be fair, the bloke is a journalist and should know that what he has posted is potentially libellous. Its beyond doubt that there are questions to be asked. Its also beyond doubt that there is a hysteria which is based on little analysis of the events. This bloke is bigging himself up at the moment and is heading for a fall.

She was almost a year from 16, one of the messages had Johnson ask when she was 16 and then he replied that's ages away, then still decided to try shag her anyway

He drank an obscene amount knowing he was going to get behind the wheel of a potential killing machine. Is that not premeditated? He then fucked off and left the bloke to die.
You actually think that is a lesser crime?

Never said it was a lesser crime and certainly don't think so either what I'm saying is in the eyes of the law it's not construed as pre meditated like johnsons

I agree, except the bits in bold. The first bit - I'm not going over that again, I've said my piece. The last bit gives me perspective that many others on here won't have. I know what a nonce, paedo or child molester is. It's hurtful to think that people perceive this case as equivalent to the awful sexual abuses of terrified young children. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that people can't see the massive difference.
Ah I've caught the wrong end of the stick perhaps.
I completely agree with you that this isn't anywhere near as bad as some cases of sexual abuse, on first glance it came across that you were saying there was a portion of blame on the girl in question which if so I still disagree with but it still looks as if I've misunderstood the main point so fair enough.

She'd only just turned 15... It's not the current laws which need reviewing either.

They haven't covered it!

They have been very clever in their wording.

Otherwise why not say "Yes we did" "No we definitely had no information whatsoever that could possibly lead us to believe" or "no one had any idea of what the evidence could have been to warrant a charge of grooming"

SAFC will have been able to get a fair idea of the evidence facing the defendant. After all our Chairperson is a criminal lawyer.

The amount of people who are clinging onto this gutless club are amazing!
No way would those statements stop further questions.

Your example is utter nonsense as there is no basis in it - we didn't act illegally, or against the rules of the game so shoild have no points deducted.

That said, I'd rather we went down than play Johnson assuming we knew about his guilt (and we did). The stench and shame it's left around the club is horrible, and will tarnish us for some time.

It was just a little scenario I came up with to see if all the people on here demanding this and that off the club would also demand a points deduction if it turns out everyone at board level knew they were playing a nailed on sex offender.

Surely if it turns out to be true, morally we should give those points up. It would freshen up that stench of shame surrounding the club you talk about.
