The problem you have with that is that all footballers have it drilled into them 'they can have what they want if they really want it then go and get it' from being very young. That mentality is what makes them think they are untouchable and also think they are clever. A premier league player is probablys told they are an outstanding individual on a regular basis and they are great. It would be impossible to seperate the bad apples from the good ones as i reckon majority of footballers have it in them to abuse their position and status to achieve whatever they want. I.e. mr johnson.

Just commenting on the facts of what is going on. What crime did the club commit when it appointed PDC yet the press had him labelled as a facist and ran stories daily, pressured sponsors and wouldn't stop until he was sacked. If he was appointed as a coach at West Ham for example he would be welcomed with open arms as a returning hero/legend.

We are an accommodating club, we don't ban reporters (as far as I know) as some clubs do, we go out of our way to do the right thing for supporters in need and are very proactive when it comes to charitable causes, we also look after ex players very well but at the end of the day it counts for jack shit when it comes to the press.

We should maybe do what the mags have done, ban undesirable reporters, provide no catering to the press and just basically stop trying too hard to be nice as it gets you no favours.
 
Stacey Flounders knew apparently of his intention to plead guilty last September according to The Mirror.

So this would imply that she thought it OK what he did on the first two counts.

It's a whole disgraceful set of incidents.

Not at all. AJ is responsible for this and will spend the rest of his life in torment one way or another.

Essentially, I'm objecting to the use of emotive language like nonce etc. This is purely a case of sex with a girl who was a few weeks from being legally able to make an informed choice, it's not molestation in my book. Denmark - legal. UK - he's labelled a 'child molester'.

The EU should look into raising the age to 18 IMO. At the very least, the whole thing needs a review.

She was barely 15 when this whole thing started. The onus was on him and him alone to prevent this from happening.
