Exactly

Send the letter to the club in private, don't plaster it on the front of a paper you f***ing halfwit, sure that will make the poor lass victim feel better. It is her that he is considered about after all..............
Remember when dave space hopper self appointed himself as the voice of the masses over the di canio fascism bollocks ... well this utter spunk trumpet is pretty much doing the same... you have to wonder why he wants to court the publicity. .. peopke don't go public like this for no reason

Hopper wanted to get his fat face on the local rag and telly to make him and his almost dead union look relevant

I now see drink driving (tony Adams) and slapping someone in McDonald's ( jokey Barton) is now the same level of crime as grooming And sexual abuse on wearside

The only time he was ever gulity of sexual abuse was when he walked into court and pled guilty, that was the first time in whole of the 12 months or whatever it was, not a day before that.

And as soon as he did that, he was sacked

Simple.

Det Insp Sampson told jurors that on the day of Johnson's arrest she met with SAFC chief exec Margaret Byrne to inform her of the allegations facing the player.

"I disclosed the offences which Mr Johnson had been arrested for, and considered safeguarding for any other young people who may come into contact with him in his role as a professional footballer."

The senior officer said particulars of the offences were not discussed, as Johnson had not been interviewed. What he said in interview was still not disclosed to the club.

It still doesn't justify the clubs actions in playing him after May when they did know the content of what had happened IMO
But he wasn't guilty of those accusations at that point?

Ok then, imagine it turns out a few people knew he was going to plead guilty at the last second. They wanted to give us the best hope of survival by playing him despite how wrong it was. I assume you will insist that any points gained while he was playing should be removed from our total???
No, because we never done anything that was against the law or Premier league rules.
Also I don't anybody knew he was going to change his plea.
What is being alleged is Byrne was giving texts and a transcript of an interview that contained evidence that Johnson kissed a child and at the least sent incriminating text messages to the same child.
I think we should make a statement as soon as possible, either denying this or admitting it and apologising to the girl for letting Johnson play.

not about AJ. But how the club has been run over the past years.

It is wider than the main thread and needs publicising!
No self respecting Sunderland fan would write an article that adds fuel to the fire of the shit storm we are in the middle of. Have an opinion by all means but don't feed the frenzy.
I hope it makes him feel better.

Why is that letter aimed at Margaret Byrne? It's sensational nonsense to put that front page.
The answers to those questions can only be given by Adam Johnson. It's not the club's fault that he did what he did.

The man who wrote the letter is nothing more than an attention seeker. Amazing that the Echo think it's a good letter and to put it front page defies belief.
He needs to ask Johnson those questions. He also needs to explain to his son what Johnson did, that's not the club's job. I had to tell my kids. They where surprised but they weren't devastated, just surprised that he was going to jail.

The club can't police what players do in there spare time, maybe more research needs to be done in to players before signing them, it's a running joke on Talksport that Sunderland is seen as a retirement home

Yes it does

what if he was innocent?

The police are the prosecution, they aren't right 100% of the time, are we just meant to take their word that he is guilty

You are only guilty once the jury and judge have convincted him

You HAVE to apply the same criteria IMO to both scenarios. If Johnson had been found not guilty, what we have as many questioning SAFC, probably not, says it all.

All convicted & none of them can go on holiday to usa.

I notice you don't quote killing someone in a road traffic accident?

Selective reporting, do you work for the sun
