Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Nothings actually going to happen here is it?

Attendances won't plummet as fans won't vote with their feet in disgust.

The club haven't broken any laws, so no legal action will be taken against them by anyone.

The club haven't broken any FA rules either, so the FA won't take any sort of action.

There's been a week to decide whether Byrne should jump or be pushed - neither has happened, so she probably isn't going to.

Sponsors haven't offered any comment at all - don't think any of them are going to pull out. Players will hardly refuse to sign as a result of this either.

The absolute worst outcome in the long term will be slight loss of reputation for some members of the board (although people will still be happy to deal with them won't they - I'm sure they will cope), and there will also be some stick from other clubs.

Byrne and Short can choose to hide away or they can make what would probably amount to a totally inadequate statement. It's not really going to make much difference, is it? The press will move on to something else eventually and that will be that, unpalatable as that may seem to some.

That's not what you said though, would you like me to quote your posts? Particularly the one where you said, what did my opinion have anything to do with it?

Aye, exactly. And what would my opinion on employment law, or human rights law, or whatever have to do with anything?

It's redundant to have sat in on civil cases and talk about your 'court experience' in relation to a criminal trial.

I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to transfer my experience in criminal to other aspects of law, the only area I've even touched upon is family and even that I know is completely different.

The missus was telling me that GMB did a poll asking if we should held accountable for Johnson's actions? A lot of people said no. The general feeling is we should state what we knew but he was the one ultimately in the wrong.

Probably sales of the echo drop again as they're acting like complete tools

How many years experience in criminal law do you have.

What exactly is that experience ........ you seem reluctant to explain but incredibly keen to keep mentioning it.

If he's gone to the media, with his sob story, climbed on his high horse and taken such a principled stance why is there any doubt?

As you said in a previous thread, whatever the club has / hasn't done, it is the supporters that are the backbone.

Playing staff will come and go, so will those in the club hierarchy. But 20 years on (God willing that I am still alive), we "the supporters" will be the glue that keeps the club together.

So in other words you know nowt but had a huge and massive dig at me because in your opinion I knew nowt either, you then made the leap to say "why are you giving an opinion/or what is your opinion worth" or words to that effect, based on your vast experience as someone who took notes in their school holidays.
See the difference between us is I'm willing to give respect to others opinions you weren't, maybe you will learn how to do that when you grow up.

Tabloid I seen today (probably seb) had picture of Ian Huntley , some other nonce (cant remember his name and Johnson)

now without trying to sound like that politician/nonce like/ Qc bloke who says there are different levels of rape

I personally think that comparing him to Ian huntley is unfair to the families of Holly & Jessica as well as the other victim

YES Johnson is a wrong'un but to associate it with a crime that really 'shook the nation' as the programs say...

does it cut that deep ?

Apparently she'd have to forgo her anonymity if she pursues damages from him through the civil courts.............so I guess its up to her as to whether being plunged into the spotlight would be in her best interests tbh.

I hope for her sake she does not, hopefully she can put this horrible saga behind her and start rebuilding her life.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the whole legal process has to be questioned in the interests of "child protection" as I genuinely believe the whole trial and the attention that it brought might have caused more physiological damage than the actual crime. And just to reiterate, by saying that I am in no way meaning to down play the seriousness of what happened between her and AJ.

Couldn't agree more.
