Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Utter shithouse

Oblivious to the irony, he used the judge’s absences from the courtroom to fiddle constantly with his mobile phone, the instrument of his demise. He was reprimanded for “discourteous behaviour”. Then, as the jury retired for their deliberations, he let a door swing in the face of a junior barrister.

Johnson was overheard telling a friend that he hoped it would all end by the third Friday, as “it was getting a bit boring”. He cited the same excuse, boredom, in drawing the context for why he had set about grooming a 15-year-old girl.
What a load of bollocks. Demonise him for fingering a 15 yearold without stooping to shit like this.

I'm beginning to suspect that 'haway' has no actual legal training whatsoever.

I've copied & pasted chunks of a few of his answers and they appear on various websites.

Almost as if he's getting his information from them ....... unless, of course, he wrote them.

Yawn fest.

1) I've never claimed legal training. As I've said numerous times I'm a student who has worked part time in criminal a criminal law firm for 3 years in the holiday. I have also volunteered in legal work with refugees though almost little of that is applicable to this thread.

2) I didn't reply to your question about training because I cba to get in an argument where you persistently question my personal life, but for the job in the law firm as you can imagine I had about 4 weeks training before I actually began the 'work', and then there is what I picked up on the job.

3) Give me examples where 'my answers appear on various websites'. The only times you will find similarities between what I say and what is on websites are where I am quoting standard things so of course they will be the same on here as elsewhere, in sentiment, because I am quoting 'set' things. But let's see where you mean. I also wouldn't deny there are points I check things because as I have said time and time again I am not a lawyer and do not no anywhere near anything, but show me where you mean and I will tell you if I have 'copied' it from a site... the only times I've copied directly I've quoted or put links in but no doubt I check things before I post... something you painfully struggle to do. The only reason this whole thing came up is because I was saying to janey she shouldn't speak authoritatively when she isn't in a position to, I have been very careful to say throughout this thread my experience in no way entails me being an authority on this.

Thing is the Echo rely heavily on the football club. It's probably the main reason people buy it, piss the club off and they could be biting the hand that feeds them.
...but they're still a business who make editorial decisions for sales purposes. Johnston Press are worth millions, turn over tens of millions, and are effectively bigger than SAFC. Johnston Press don't give a monkey's toss about Sunderland AFC. They might pretend they do from time to time to please readership, but they don't 'need' us.

Sorry but I find that hard to believe as that would extend outwards from all discussions that went on under those circumstances. Happy to be proved wrong like.
Think of medical confidentiality between you and your doctor. If your doctor has information you have a disease and you tell your mate, are they under the same confidentiality? It's just between you and your doctor.

I can't say Im 100% sure on this as it's not something that came up a lot but I'm pretty sure legal privilege is only between you and your legal team, if you choose to share it then who you share it with can share it without breaching that confidentiality.

The sun today compared him to Ian Huntley.

Tbf they didn't really, they gave a misleading title with the name of johnson huntley and some other serial killer and then said... 'will be in the same prison'. Shit journalism and misleading but they didn't compare his crimes I don't think?

If AJ and his legal team did disclose sensitive information about his defence surely that would be passed on as confidential material and the club would be bound by that confidentiality though?

I don't know. It might have been or might not. All my point was is that it wouldn't be under legal privilege like what was shared between AJ and his lawyers.

As a student if you have medical issues your University can ask you to complete a form allowing them access to your confidential medical records so that they can use them as evidence that you had good reason to miss an exam or not complete coursework etc.

Once you have given them that permission they can't then go and disclose your medical records to anyone they like just because they have permission to access it.

Surely any sensitive material Johnson or his legal team did pass to the club would be under a similar arrangement?

Aye good point.

I dunno what the rules are between employees and employers as I've never touched employment stuff. But it's not the same legal privilege.

Im sure google could answer some of this? I don't know.

I've had a gander at the link he provided earlier about confidentiality which was this one;

and got this.

A solicitor is professionally and legally obliged to keep the affairs of clients confidential and to ensure that his staff do likewise. The obligations extend to all matters revealed to a solicitor, from whatever source, by a client, or someone acting on the client's behalf. See chapter 4 of the .

In exceptional circumstances this general obligation of confidence may be overridden. See chapter 4 of the . However, certain communications can never be disclosed unless statute permits this either expressly or by necessary implication. Such communications are those protected by legal professional privilege (LPP)

And according to Chapter 4 of the SRA handbook

O(4.1) you keep the affairs of clients confidential unless disclosure is required or permitted by law or the client consents;

The way I'm reading that is that a client can give permission for confidential information to be released but it says nothing about what the party receiving that information can do with it. Again, I'd be very surprised if the party receiving it could do what the fuck they wanted with it like but can't find out for certain.

Maybe, I would have told her to stay off until it's all finished.

I'm not wanting to fall out with anyone over this and I'm not trying to be sanctimonious but I think the girl and her family have had enough people judging them over this so maybe we should just drop it now, given that nobody should even be aware who she is.

You were a student working part time in a law firm. Yet you battered me and undermined my experience of 20 years working regularly in a Court environment, constantly, questioning everything I said on your high horse, don't hurt your leg when you get off your high horse.
anyway as a loyal Sunderland supporter, let's forget litigation, what did you think of the Palace game, I'm presuming you were there.
