Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Well they have covered it as every communication has said they thought he was pleading not guilty

Just nobody seems to believe it

That's a completely different question. He can quite easily say he chatted up and kissed her but was going to plead not guilty. It seems he admitted this to the police as he didn't think it was a serious matter.

I've had a warning for a libelous post. That wasnt even libelous. It was a fact. It was part of the case that was discussed in court. I was asking for other peoples thoughts on it. It's now been deleted.

I'm pretty much out for this thread now. But you lot carry on with your witchhunt and hysteria.
We aren't the ones being warned for libelous posts

Where did that comment say he wasn't entitled to his opinion? If anything, I agreed with most what he said.

I've been screaming around this thread because our club are failing to give simple answers about how much they knew about a sex offender playing for us, we're getting f***ing destroyed, and the insight of a third of the SMB is 'well I support the lads ye knar so erm who cares what happened can't we just move on'.

The fact is most posters would happily argue until 2am about whether or not Fletcher's problem was poor effort or poor ability, yet don't want to talk about a child sex scandal at our club, which is fine by me, but the reason I keep posting is that I care a lot more about what is currently being suggested than trivial footballing matters.

Do you appreciate how serious it is that our club has potentially failed to take adequate action against a player who groomed and sexually abused an underage supporter?:oops::oops::oops:

Potentially is the key word.

Do you not think it a better stance to give the club the benefit of the doubt before believing all of the rubbish that's written about them?

We would all (well most of us) love the club to come out and clarify all of these issues but to think that's a simple thing to do given the current media witch hunt is naive in the extreme.

This whole situation wouldn't have happened if the girls father had acted like any self respecting father would and taken a baseball bat to Johnsons knees.

They are stating regularly on the radio that new facts have come out from the police that they had told the club full details of the allegations back in May last year.

This is completely untrue, the police "disclosed the offences which Mr Johnson had been arrested for, and considered safeguarding for any other young people who may come into contact with him in his role as a professional footballer." at a point when he hadn't even been interviewed and this is not new information we've all known the club was aware of the allegations since they were made.

Got a link to an article or podcast that says the club had 'full details of the offences'? The stuff I saw they said SAFC had information he had kissed and been messaging a teenage fan?

Why do you want to see articles?

I think this is your problem, you take too much notice of what the rags print to try and sell stories. Don't you know the internet is killing their trade and their more desperate than ever?

Because he was saying the papers had lied so was asking for proof?

But he is a Newcastle supporter.

I fear that the other bloke was joking and your genuinely trying to use this as a way to get at mags lol.

There are plenty of people that support newcastle that are rightly arrested and trialled, whats your point ahha im not in charge of all newcastle fans.

I'd better report this one just to be absolutely sure you fuck off for good.

If Sunderland AFC are suspected of acting illegally in their handling of the Adam Johnson situation, why aren't the Police speaking to them instead of the BBC?

The question seems to be were the club actions legally correct but morally wrong.

Who said what and when, which is what the BBC want to know, seems to be a desperate attempt to find a scapegoat when the person in the middle of this, Adam Johnson, is the one to blame.

I agree, people are getting into a bit of confusion regarding the police meeting with the club and other meeting(s). But in terms of the post I was replying to, the winner and PF record holder is how many times, now in the hundreds, that people have ignored the main point about the club's statement
No they haven't. They've just interpreted it differently to you. Get over it, and realise that not everyone sees evidence in the same way. That's why juries sometimes fail to reach decisions.
