Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Yet they haven't answered the question as to whether Johnson admitted to Byrne that he had kissed and groomed her (he allegedly told them he'd be pleading not guilty anyway in said meeting) despite the fact that the allegations first came to light almost 2 weeks ago.

I'm sure Johnson knew all about the ins and outs of the recently updated grooming legislation.

FFS man he had to google the age of consent.

He probably admitted texting and kissing the girl. As he admitted in court that he lied to the police about the finer detail I think it's fair to assume he was less than frank with the club too.

It rather pales into insignificance compared to the number of times it has needed (and still needs) to be pointed out that the main issue is the allegations made about the club's meeting with Johnson in May 2015 and the club's non-denial of those allegations.

These allegations are the club were told everything about the case? Yes. Who made those allegations? Johnson, or someone else? All I'm pointing out is it wasn't the police, no matter how many times someone wants to claim it.

Similarly the story doesn't appear to have made the BBC's top ten news items any time today.

Sadly I suspect it's just the calm before the storm and it'll all come back with a vengeance when Johnson is sentenced.
Totally agree, just wish he'd been sentenced on Wednesday, get all the shit over at once, I know he's entitled to pre-sentence reports so that wasn't possible but I wish it could have happened.

Gan on Keith. Firm but fair. Ban anyone who say's different. In the words of Snap, You've got the Power.

We got away with the Ji case, because it was a different misdemeanour, and the FA were as much at fault as us. It also wasn't her who forgot to send the extra bit of paper.
The Alvares case is not final yet, though he has been declared a free agent from both warring clubs. As yet we still owe nothing on that one until a judgement is reached, but don't let that get in the way of you're rant.
According to some Italian media outlets we've already coughed up the money. Just because the club say nowt doesn't mean it hasn't happened

There's a theme developing here

I've had a warning for a libelous post. That wasnt even libelous. It was a fact. It was part of the case that was discussed in court. I was asking for other peoples thoughts on it. It's now been deleted.

I'm pretty much out for this thread now. But you lot carry on with your witchhunt and hysteria.

I agree, people are getting into a bit of confusion regarding the police meeting with the club and other meeting(s). But in terms of the post I was replying to, the winner and PF record holder is how many times, now in the hundreds, that people have ignored the main point about the club's statement
