For all those who want this thread closed.

Hopw bad do you think you'll look when outsiders start talking about you lot gagging any discussion.

Stopped reading at that point.

Did the girl have learning difficulties that prevented her from making a choice? She encouraged the situation from the start, it was with her consent. When she turns/turned 16, does she suddenly become competent enough to make an informed decision about sex? Legally yes, in reality, no. In Denmark and premably many other countries, she'd be legal. Are they culturally backwards there regarding sex? 16 is a fairly arbitrary choice of age of consent, it's hardly a science given people mature at very different rates. For what it's worth, I think the age of consent should be raised to 18, for various reasons. All this 'nonce' and child molester talk is a massive overreaction and is insulting to those who have genuinely been molested IMO.

I was molested several times as a kid, I've openly mentioned it on here before, on a couple of occasions it involved violence. I felt threatened and cornered, and I couldn't tell anyone as I didn't think anyone would believe me. I did absolutely nothing to encourage the events. NOTHING.
If you think that is in any way the same thing as the Johnson case, you're f***ing nuts. You and all the idiots who agree with you. The girl has to shoulder some responsibility in this, and where the hell were her parents?

I haven't really had my say on this yet. It hurts to see the club I love being shot at in the press because of the actions of one man. He is a piece of filth and I feel for the victim and also for his poor baby daughter who will have to grow up with this.

If people at the club knew what he had done yet still allowed him to play and collect 60k per week then heads have got to roll. I knew the club was ran by clueless idiots but this takes it to a whole new level.

Finally we might see the benefit of having a lawyer at the top. If we've fucked up in any way legally then it will be astonishing

What the MP should be focusing on is using the case to promote local services in her constituency for children suffering the same thing.

No surprise instead she is gunning the football club

Classic really

I'm not entirely in agreement with all that.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but you must remember, everybody and that means EVERYBODY should be considered innocent until proven guilty. Supporting Johnson at that time wasn't wrong per se. Knowing what people now know, they would not offer the same support.

You can't go back and say 'people were wrong to support him' without knowing the facts - because by the same measure, people would be wrong to stop supporting him without knowing the facts too - so really, people ought to have treated him as they always did until he was found guilty right?

I think the whole 'met a girl in a club' type scenario was simply one of the more realistic ways that people could end up embroiled in such a scenario, and was offered up as an example of how a man COULD end up with a 15 year old and not be a bad guy. Had that turned out to be the case, many people would have had a lot of sympathy - because it's a scenario that could happen to many. Now we know that wasn't the case, and it was much more coldly calculated, nobody's offering their support.
Well nobody except sidneyeric incredibly.

It's tragic that you were molested as a child and you have my sympathy but as you are apportioning some blame to Johnson's victim in this are you also partly to blame for the awful things that happened to you?

The club and the fans have behaved spot on imho

Johnson has let himself and his family down and also us.

He Will pay a big price for that
Do you think he cares? He'll have received guidance on what to say in court, stuff like how sorry he is, especially for the lass. Yet some reported antics of his in court suggest that he's someone who is bored with his life. He'll be inside for a relatively short time, come out and be able to pretty much do as he pleases for the rest of his life, and he'll not give this a second thought. Unless he has his passport taken away he'll piss off to somewhere warm and be anonymous.

Yes and because the club are not jumping through hoops for them they're kicking up a shitstorm, give the club a chance to answer before calling for heads to role.

You haven't given Papiss Cisse a chance to answer, you've already condemned him.

Why should Sunderland be afforded any extra privileges?

Johnson is a big boy, he should know how to not be lured by a 15 year old girl (not saying that he was lured btw).

She has done NOTHING wrong, underage girls can walk about being as "encouraging" as they want. Johnson should have the mental capacity to not actually do it which he evidently doesn't.

Also you being molested has fuck all to do with it.

An interesting perspective.

Gets her on the telly though, so it's all good.

for the people trying to use cisse as some sort of comfort blanket agains any black n white with an opinion

cisse started his relationship with the 13 year old girl when he was 15(it became illigal when he turned 16)....he also went on to marry the same lass.....just out of intrest how many young lasses have had kids in this country when they have been under 16?.........1000's........and how many of the fathers would have been under 16....1000's...and how many of the fathers would have turned 16 before the lass....1000's

stop the straw grasping..............you club and sections of your fans have handled the whole thing shockingly.......and until safc release a statment saying johnson is telling porkies about him saying he told the club....it aint gonna go away.

indeed, a level in which, will be make or break for me, i feel ashamed if its clear that he's played on and the club have knew all this time, and allowed the supporters to continue to cheer his name, that's the line for me, people can say what they like about loyalty, but this goes above and past the point of what is considered normal support for ones team ! as for closing this thread down which has been mentioned by some again we have to be whiter than white on this the world is watching us right now, so painful as it maybe for some it is only proper that it continues, applogises to the above poster for using this reply's this much but i had to get it off my chest
