Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

What happened to the Question Time thread?!

I wanted to know if Jenas was in favour of Brexit??

That was the first meeting between AJ and his QC according to the club statement, so I'd imagine they had plenty to discuss that might not require or be intended for his employer
I might be naive but if Johnson admitted to the club his actions, to some extent at least, in front of his QC but still intended to plead not guilty doesn't that put the QC in a somewhat tricky position- being asked to defend someone that has admitted their guilt? Something doesn't add up with the various accounts to me.

I wish the club had upheld the suspension but get the impression that they acted on legal advice rather than from any intention of continuing to use a valuable player. Just pleased that justice would appear to have prevailed in the end, an awful experience for the girl, her family and for that matter Johnsons family too.
From an entirely personal perspective it's been difficult to try and explain to my seven year old son who idolised Johnson too, been trying to persuade him to follow the somewhat better example of Watmore for months. Johnson really has let down an enormous number of people and very negatively effected the lives of at least two families. Hopefully once sentenced everyone can put the whole experience behind them and get on with their lives.

Aye and don't we f***ing know it!!!

you see I'm interested in SAFC and follow them everywhere and hate to see people having a go at them like this. They may, or may not choose to respond. Maggie Byrne may well be brought to task but until such time, why the witch hunt? This is a club myself and many others love. I'm also finding out a few who couldn't give a fuck about it. That saddens me. I best leave the thread as there's no point people falling out as ultimately we will all have our own thoughts.

Play nice!!

So does that mean you also have to love the people working for it ?

It does look like MB has really let her self down She has tried to cover the club legally but hasn't done what was morally right in my view

How have you come to that conclusion?

The detective who was on the case from the start has just been on the news there stating that the club were told exactly what Johnson had admitted to.

Can't see this going away until the club clarify this exact point.

Exactly, legally we've done nothing wrong, if you know what your employer has done but still utilise him, there is no law stopping that, however it's morally bad

I'm starting to hope Johnson appeals so the club can go to court and have Byrne appear as their legal representative.

That would either clear or condemn her but would at least put the whole affair in the public domain.

I'd also like to see Johnson repeat his claims in court during his appeal.

So you're happy to believe her friends who said she was a liar without questioning what they said at all, but you're not happy to accept what she said in court?

The mind is boggling at the way this thread is heading
She admitted herself that she exagerates man.

Why is she going from Durham to London, or wherever, to give the BBC an exclusive on that subject?

Does that make sense to you mate?
