Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Something I've picked up on from the media reports. Maybe someone can answer this ...

It's been reported that Johnson, his QC, and his father met club officials to discuss the case. This is the one when he states he told the club "everything". Now if we ignore the content of what was said for a second, what has been reported by many people is the MB was present for some of that meeting but not all of it.

So if he wasn't talking to MB who the fuck was he taking to?!

Johnson is the criminal here, not the club, not the victim. He is where the focus should be, full stop.

Send the twat down and make him pay compensation to the victim. He should also be sued by the club for his wages and they should give it to an appropriate charity.

I also feel for his family if they were as deceived by him as the rest of us.

Hope he rots!

whats unclear to me is the Judge said he would only accept a unanimous verdict and when they re-ajurned the next morning and the jury had settled 10 to 2 and he accepted it straightaway? I'm not siding with Johnson here but there was an element of doubt and thats ample ground for appeal?

sounds like everyone's been lying to some extent
One charge was 12-0 and the other they couldn't reach a verdict so he said he would accept a majority

Their case has been proven and the case is finished ....... so why send the investigating officer to the BBC to talk about the club?

They are stating their part in bringing a criminal to justice. It's not a new thing, you must have seen it before? After the Soham Murders for example, on how they got the conviction?

How old was Priscilla when she latched onto Elvis? What Johnson has done is disgusting however it doesn't touch the sides of Saville or Rolf Harris IMO

What those two did was truly gross but it's a massive grey area around the age of consent. If Johnson had been plying his trade in Germany, Austria, France or Greece and did what he did he wouldn't have committed any crime at all. He showed very poor judgement and his moral compass was miles off but it's not in the same league as the two you mention, although it's being portrayed that way almost by the media frenzy.

Why, their case has been proven. It's all over, all that's left is sentencing which is nothing to do with the police.
The case being proven is nothing to do with the Police, either. The Police don't bring cases to court, don't prosecute and don't have their case proven.

He is a criminal, and he is being dealt with accordingly.

However, today's shitstorm is about the conduct of the club and the decisions they made. They are also accountable for their actions.

Plying young girls with drink and drugs to commit group rape on a regular basis and large scale with several victims is like chalk and cheese to this case.

Agree about that but not all the grooming sex scandals have been that awful and while I agree that those you mention were much worse imo the mentality that sees someone exploit a minor by lavishing them with signed shirts and rides in their car is the same mentality that does more serious offending against children. I do not dispute the comparative seriousness between some of the cases and AJ and that is why some of the abusers got 30 odd year.

Correct. They submit the evidence to the prosecution.

Because this is now a question about the conduct of a large community institution. The police aren't the only ones to express concern today. Charities, community groups and the local MP have all come out to say that the club have serious questions to answer. Not to mention the majority of the public.

I couldn't agree more but I'm not sure it's the business of the police to send a senior officer to the BBC to make accusations when no crime has been committed.

Surely the police are there to investigate and prosecute offenders as they've done with Johnson.

Could have been the clubs own legal team maybe ?

How does what they've said today have anything to do with bringing Johnson to justice?

Very good point to be fair :lol::lol:

Genuinely hadn't thought of that, but even if Byrne left, it wouldn't be much of a meeting between the club and AJ if it was only AJ, his Dad and his QC left in

I was at the match on Tuesday with friends and was given my Southampton & Newcastle tickets by another friend.

I have friends who post on here who I've travelled with for decades and I'll see some on Saturday.

The fact that you can claim a genuine offer, to all decent people, to be a plea for friends shows what a weasel you are.

This is a thread about a sexual abuse on a 15 year old and you come on to score points like this ..... what a f***ing creep.

Granted wrong thread. You got you're bit in though so don't try and take the moral high ground.

I've also replied to you on a separate post so feel free to discuss that.
