Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Not open for further replies.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce says it was a "massive shock" that Adam Johnson pleaded guilty to child sex offences.

This whole idea that the club had full evidence of what had gone in in the form of transcripts and messages is f***ing strange to me.
The club didn't get this from the police or the CPS.
The club got the information from Johnson's legal team, the same legal team that were having no bother with Johnson saying he was pleading not guilty.

So I'm supposed to believe that incriminating evidence was handed over by the same crew that were pleading innocence of the charges?

That is the bit I find hard to understand as it makes no f***ing sense whatsoever to me like.

That's my last word on this as the thread has been circular for a while now. But if someone could post the Gudjohsen Bad Johnson photo, it would be much appreciated.
I questioned its legitimacy earlier. It was mostly ignored

If the club refuses to make a comment in the next few days or week then I think that says it all personally. The amount of shite coming from the media could be put to bed rather quickly if they address the allegation. I hate having a go at the club and rarely do it but this is extremely frustrating from them and only giving people more ammo.
Personally I hope they don't just to piss you off.

It doesn't help the matter does it? It makes it worse and makes them look like they're hiding something. There's no reason why they avoided the allegations and continue to do so.

It's a simple face of they let him play on to help us ensure premier league survival. That's as simple as it is for me, it's a matter of opinion whether that's right or wrong. I can see their thinking, but I won't be breaking my neck to defend them for it.

What does that have to do with my post? If that's the case then why doesn't the club just come out and say this, say he's lying and that he never admitted the facts to them. Why have they chose to ignore that part?

If it was me or my business accused of that I would want to put the record straight. Maybe they want to be associated with the crime? I somehow doubt it...

Get in touch with the club then. And if you feel the club's response isn't satisfactory, vote with your feet. Don't hand your cash over and take a principled stance of avoiding the place until you have had all your concerns taken care of. if people feel so strongly about the club being in the wrong I don't see why they'd be happy at helping to fund it.

Pretty much my stance as well mate. Before this came out I thought we had handled the whole situation as well as we could have, if the club had included a paragraph in their statement refuting Johnson's claims about what we were aware of then we would be ok

The fact that it isn't just looks proper dodgy and it's no surprise that countless media outlets have picked up on it. IF the club knew about the sexual kissing and had access to the Whatsapp conversation history then this has been handled shockingly

Totally ignoring my point again then...

I have said I'm not going to protest or boycott. I don't feel that strongly. I simply don't see why people are bending over backwards to defend them. You seemingly can't answer a simple question about your post. You've took the Margaret Byrne stance. So I'll leave it and just not bother as I'm getting nowhere.

I'm already bored of it tbh
Can't see it going anywhere till they give the media an answer one way or another sadly.

This. Exactly this.

No surprise when the axe grinding comes out. @Nemo pointed out earlier in the thread that Joshua Rozenberg, a QC educated at Cambridge, had said that the club had handled itself well in difficult circumstances. That got ignored an all.

I hope they (the media) don't get one. Fuck them.

How can I be wrong when it's a matter of opinion? There seems to be more people getting angry in their defence of the club than the other ways round in my eyes.

"Seems to be people defending the club and absolving them of any blame that seems to be shouting the loudest now."

That isn't an opinion, it's a claim that people are absolving the club of any blame.

You can't give one example so you're wrong .......... sorry, I don't make the rules, that's just how it is.

I just don't like Sunderland looking bad. I f***ing love the club and its awful seeing the headlines today. Ignoring it is probably the best answer and ill probably end up doing just that but I can see the point people are making. f***ing despise that twat Johnson for this like.

Not handing over your cash to the club, because you're not happy is the " Margaret Byrne stance" ?? How so?

I started it with seems to be. As in it seems to me...

You can't have a go at anybody about 'I don't make the rules'. Your opinion would admittedly change depending on what club it is man. That's f***ing pathetic.

It's an opinion on what I can see
