Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

I'm pretty sure all he said was that the FA had confirmed he can play, not that we were going to have him in the squad. I might be wrong like. Either way he didn't play so it doesn't really matter

The CEO was present in the interview and saw the documents relating to the case ie the WhatsApp messages (according to what was revealed in court, which the club haven't denied in the statement) .

From what was revealed in those messages it was pretty clear he'd be guilty. If I was a SAFC fan I'd be sickened if she didn't sack him after seeing those.

It's disgusting that a club chose money over what was the right thing to do. Perhaps they thought it wouldn't see the light of day but unfortunately the truth is now known.
The sad thing is the vast majority of clubs probably would have done the same thing. I'm sure we like to think that boro / Newcastle would be different and would have fired him on the spot but sadly they probably would also have turned a blind eye.

Sunderland, are just one in a long line of morally bankrupt clubs unfortunately.

But The club didn't deny it and actually admitted they had 'some' of the papers ... why didn't they deny it if it wasn't true?!?

Nope... you can admit to kissing someone but plead not guilty for various reasons ...
They have denied any admissions. They said he was pleading not guilty and refuted them. Some papers could just be the charges.

At an interview at which the CEO was present. Read the trial and SAFC statement and they both say that she was present at that interview.
But he denied the allegations. The opposite to what he said in court

That is exactly the thing though, he was only in a position of power because of the way she pretty much harassed him.

Young male teachers, friends' older brothers or good looking dads, pop stars etc are all susceptible to be infatuated over by teenage girls.

However, 99.9% of people would not have a sexual relationship with a 15 year old child because the thought of doing that would turn their stomach

His stomach didn't turn, he's a nonce.

There was enough doubt in the girls evidence around the state of Johnsons pubes, but the fact Johnson lied about his cast to make it sound like he couldn't have and the content of text messages meant there was no doubt about the charge he has been convicted of.

Mate, I'm so sorry. But that makes no sense. Could you try again please. I haven't been keeping up to date with the goings on. What did the defense say about the girl's character? How did she end up with his phone number?

Don't get how he can be found guilty of one charge and not guilty of the other

This. Has to be one of the most ridiculous posts in this thread

Somebody educate this stupid boy

All it took was 11 to think he was guilty and 1 not guilty then the verdict would be a not guilty one.

The likelihood is that he really did get the blow job from her but there was not enough evidence to convince for a unanimous verdict

I'm convinced the count was probably 10-2 on both counts

So if it was your daughter, would you have the same level of sympathy? Your comparison is crap as well, as the nature and hyperbole surrounding football is far greater than ordinary roles.

It's obviously different if it was one of mine, because I'd be emotionally involved, probably wouldn't be able to look at the facts with a clear head and would want to kill him. But as someone looking on from afar, I don't have sympathy for the bloke as such, I just think the lass should be held accountable for what she has done.
