It's like those stats about Pantilimon being the best keeper in the PL, because he was playing behind one of the worst defences and had more saves to make. Clearly those defenders at the bottom have more tackles/interceptions to make and more headers to win. Not sure what pass distance means as it surely relies on how narrow a team plays, pass accuracy would be a better indicator and even then it's not clear how effective those passes are. Statistics are very useful, but only when in context.
