In a funny way I see relegation as almost an act ot mercy now. This cant go on. Every time, every weekend, we lose we must rely on teams around us to lose who just don't. The only way we can end this agony is to go down.

Perhaps weirdly it won't be as bad for us as Aston Villa. We have always been dead men walking. We have always been in relegation fights. Aston Villa have NEVER been relegated in the history of the PL. Last time they went down from the top Division was before the formation of the Premier League. To them this is new. There is Villa fans I bet who are Season Ticket holders who weren't born when they were a side not in the top league. Not being a PL side I think will be a massive culture shock. Seeing "Aston Villa v Leeds United" or "Huddersfield v Aston Villa" on the fixtures will seem odd to them. To us such games is in recent memory.

That is my hopes now in light of recent bad luck.

People need to realise this Chelsea team we are coming against are awful at the moment creating nothing and confidence shot to pieces. I'm SICK of people saying we'll get nothing from next two games and writing them off. We could easily put 10 men behind ball against Chelsea and get a point - Sam knows how to set up defensively and get a result. Bad weekend for us but we'll be OK come May.

You know we will make them look like Brazil...

I know some will be annoyed at your post, but I am coming around to the same conclusions.

We won't, I don't think youve been paying attention to the difference.

We usually do better against the so called better teams. Got a canny record at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are there for the taking. Normally give Man City a decent game as well.

They will batter us. They are due to hammer someone.

You must think though, that after two losses on the bounce for us which roots us in the bottom 3. And two wins for you which puts you 4 points clear of ourselves (relegation rivals as much as anything) that it's gonna send a few over the edge when you post on a sunderland message board directly after you've won. Regardless of whether you should be happy about it or not.
A Sunderland message board shouldn't be the first place to exclaim such a thing mind should it?
You must have realised the response you were going to get?
Basically this. Its only going to wind us up and provoke a reaction, but obviously he knows this.

Problem is that Sam started to give us hope whereas its much easier than just being utterly gone where you can just leave the overpaid fuckers to it and go and do something else on match days.

You're not looking at the reality of the situation. But at least you have belief, I'll give you that.

The reality of the situation is the same as the last few seasons where we've won at Chelsea and got a point at Man City.

He didn't give me much hope and expectations. I had heard he was good but had to see him prove it and frankly I haven't been that won over.

But now we have a manager who has a fanatastic record of keeping clubs in the premier league. Have you given up on Sam already when there is still so much to play for. We also havnt had our own usual "freak" results yet...but we will at some point.
