Venue: White Hart Lane

About the clubs:

Tottenham Hotspur:

Spurs
, are an English football club located in Tottenham, London. The club's home stadium is White Hart Lane.

Founded in 1882, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901, making them the only non-League club to do so since the formation of the Football League. Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960-61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. Tottenham were the inaugural winner of the UEFACup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. When Spurs won the League Cup once more in 2008, it meant that they had won a major trophy in each of the last six decades – an achievement only matched by Manchester United.

Newcastle United:

Founded in 1992 by John Hall Newcastle United have had a stunning history. Known throughout the land as 'the entertainers' they are a club that strive for greatness. In their 23 year history the club have lived up to their nickname. Under the reign of Kevin Keegan Newcastle stormed to the very summit of English football and topped the Premier League. Upon realising that having a trophy sewn up with games to go would not entertain, Newcastle threw away a twelve point lead with Keegan giving an academy award winning performance in front of the Sky cameras in a rant against Alex Ferguson.

Newcastle are unusual in that, for such a young club, they have enjoyed success on the European stage and are the only North Eastern team in the UK to have won the coveted Intertoto certificate. They have also played in the European Champion's League, once beating Barcelona, adding their name to an illustrious list of teams with other such giants of the game as Getafe.

Newcastle also has an airport.

Team news:

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier is expected to be fit despite suffering a shin injury in the win over Monaco.

Fellow midfielder Mousa Dembele missed that match through illness and is doubtful for this weekend.

Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren has no new injury worries and will have the same squad who beat Liverpool.

The Magpies are still without defender Jamaal Lascelles and midfielders Cheick Tiote and Rolando Aarons, but the trio could return to action next week.

A word from Schteve:

"I think this team is capable of so much more, that's the frustrating thing.

"A lot of other teams will feel the same and they won't be thinking of fourth bottom.

"That's not our mindset, we're not thinking of that. I haven't even thought about where we'd like to finish."
