Is County Durham more red n white or black n white?

Depends where/ I'd say areas like Hetton, Seaham, Easington, areas around Durham city centre were pretty much Sunderland. Darlington/Hartlepool is more Sunderland

But you've got places like Birtley Stanley CLS that I would argue is more Mag infested.

Good word that marra " Infested"
 
County Durham's a canny big place so it varies depending on where you are.

East Durham is easily more red and white, while West Durham tends to be more black and white. Centrally it's probably somewhere in the middle, and the northern parts close to Gateshead like Birtley where I live is more black and white.

Football support in the main tends to be decided by geography so it's pretty simple really, hence places like Gateshead are more black and white while places like Seaham are red and white.

Is the correct answer, whatever town is closest to Newcastle, Sunderland or Middlesborough they'll make up the biggest fanbase.

East Durham is easily red and white. Peterlee clubs are chocker when lads are on the box playing away don't have any beambacks for the Mags.
 
As an aside, they have been giving Primary Schools in Houghton/Fencehouses/Chester-le-Street area free/heavily discounted (£15 for parent and child) tickets of late. So much for 'free ticket Mackems' .

Dirty bastards.
 
Being a geek geographer it would be fairly interesting to overly the season ticket postcode data from both clubs on a map and put this argument to bed once and for all. I'm not doing it like!

More red and white to the east and more black and white to the west of County Durham in my experience.

Darlington is absolutely full of mags. More of them than us, Boro and Darlo fans put together. Hartlepool more Sunderland.
