villa bigger club than Sunderland

Therein lies the problem with you deluded fuckers

Of course we're a bigger club than you are.

You've never done anything in this league, you yo-yo up & down and when you get a decent striker, we waltz in and take him off your hands

A lot of people on here need to wake up & smell the coffee

Both are big clubs to be fair. Villa are bigger, I tend to think the size of a club is determined in part by attendances but mainly by honours (as well as having been successful over a decent period of time). Villa have won more top flight titles, more FA cups, league cups and have win the European cup, in addition to having won a cup more recently. Sunderland get more through the turnstiles but that on it's own isn't enough to be a bigger club.

Mind, this whole "my club is bigger than yours" argument is as pointless as it is pathetic, what does it matter if a club is "bigger" than another? I'm no better than a chesterfield fan just because my club is bigger than theirs, don't know why some go on about it as if it's some kind of penis extension

Forget Sunderland (and I agree you're a bigger club than us) - just wanted to get your views on Villa.
So just to be clear, you're saying Villa are a bigger club than Everton, Spurs and Newcastle. So are these the only clubs bigger than Villa... ...Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool?

Just to be clear, all you need to do is read my reply properly, including the final paragraph. I'm sure even you can manage that

Although you make some good points your patronising manner really does you no favours and paints a picture of Maglike unearned arrogance.

Can you read fella I never said that! What i did say In terms of support..I will say it again for emphasis..in terms of "support" sunderland are in the big league and if you gave the big trophy winning clubs our recent 60 year history i would guess that only liverpool and man u and i hate to say it newcastle would be the clubs garnering our level of support......certainly not villa, chelsea , spurs or arsenal and dont get me started on the joke clubs like stoke southampton west ham ,wba and swansea!

"It's the fans that make the club and with that in mind, only Man U, Celtic and Rangers are bigger than us",

The above was the statement that I initially responded to with the comment relating to Liverpool and Arsenal.

Charlie needs to take it easy on the vodka. Debatable whether they are the biggest team in Birmingham.
That is true, and one of the strange quirks of Aston Villa.

They are a bigger club than Birmingham City but they are not really the club of the city. A huge proportion of Villa's support is from outside the city, places like Gloucester, Worcester, Stafford, Stratford, the Black Country ,etc. Almost like a Midlands-esque mini-Man Utd.

Birmingham draw nearly all their support from Birmingham.

I think the reason he is on here disrespecting our club is that the cold reality is starting to bite ( like it did for us). He's kind of lashing out, trying to judge Villa's true place in the scheme of things, and not liking what he is discovering. Villa, like us, are footballing non entities and never will be truly " big" (whatever that means).

Maybe we should cut him some slack. He, like us, found that grim truth is sometimes very uncomfortable.

Not really mate. He is on OUR site throwing around derogatory remarks and basically abusing posters who put up any resistance to his posts on the subjective "big" club argument.

I would say villa are a bigger club than us because theyve won more than us. Seven league titles, 6 fa cups and 5 league cups and a european cup. Thats impressive and villa fans should be righly proud of that. Also in top flight/ prem league since 88 unbroken. League runners up in 1990 and 1993. Pretty decent that.

OK. I went back and read your post word for word, and fair enough, I got it wrong. You only said Villa are a similarly sized club to Spurs and Everton, not bigger than them. I don't know why you have to be so rude about it though.

And by the way, I disagree with you. Maybe not with Everton so much (although I think they edge it due to a larger and much more loyal support), but Spurs are way ahead of Villa in any way you care to mention.

Guess the love affair is over then, whatever did happen to all of the half and half badges of May 2009?

In terms of support! then I stick to that statement!.... liverpool may be as big but not bigger! Arsenal given our recent 60 year history would loose support to other london clubs ,chelsea would have gone bankrupt without the russian and be in division three where they belong .............I have witnessed dross on the pitch and in the boardroom for over 40 years but I will always defend the support of our club................... it is simply magnificent and a thing to be proud of !

Bale, Berbatov, Campbel
Rooney, Fellani, Arteta

Off the top of my head. There is some nonsense spouted on this board but nobody spouts more than you, you crank

All teams loose players, Arsenal have lost players to Man City, United could loose their goalkeeper to Real Madrid. In Villas case, we had no choice in the matter as there were buy out clauses that were met. Now for the love of God man, stop posting this drivel
Missed the point totally as per usual
