Striker
When you talk about winning things you are talking about success. When you talk about attendances and fan numbers you are talking about size. Surely?

A few truths.
1. Villa are probably a bigger club given they've won more and had more sustained top flight football post war. Given this most neutrals would also say Villa are better known.
2. It's a silly argument as neither of us are "Big" in reality. Both clubs are irrelevant in the modern game, which is a massive shame.
3. Villas support is surprisingly poor given point 1
4. Cridge is a bit of a twat
@Villan You say that Villa are above the big club argument, yet the other Villa fan is coming on here sounding very argumentative and aggressive to prove that Villa are a bigger club. You've been pretty reasonable about it from reading a couple of posts but there is no need to come on another teams forum and start ridiculing them like he has. Just don't understand it personally.
Just to clarify-The thread is about Villa & I have every right to contribute. I do not need to prove Villa are a bigger club, as most accept that we are. Villa are continually chastised on here so I see nothing wrong with giving a bit back-You will also note that I do not resort to the petty name calling and childish insults that many of the less educated on here do.
Over the past few weeks, we have read "Villa are shit, their players are shit, their signings are shit, their manager is shit, their support is shit etc, etc.
They are Sunderland ffs not Barcelona. They need to be bought down to earth every now & then otherwise they begin to think that I've fallen out with them.
In your first reply you were particularly cocky though:
"You've never done anything in this league, you yo-yo up & down and when you get a decent striker, we waltz in and take him off your hands"
What exactly have Villa done in the PL era? Made up the numbers with Everton and Spurs whilst Arsenal, Chelsea etc have actually won things and consistently got in the top 4. 7th or 14th, it's not impressive either way is it.
Something you are quite clearly incapable of.Just to clarify-The thread is about Villa & I have every right to contribute. I do not need to prove Villa are a bigger club, as most accept that we are. This is where your argument falls down, you are not in the same tier as Everton and Spurs, these clubs don't sell their best players. In the PL era, we have won 2 league cups and qualified for Europe on many occasions. Villa are not a top 4 club and have only reached the top 4 on 5 occasions in my lifetime. They are in the next tier, along with yourselves and Spurs. This money is not going to last for ever and sooner or later, the bubble will burst. With the internet becoming more advanced and android boxes becoming more popular, I live in hope that the TV money will die a death. It sickens me to see 21 year old upstarts crashing £250000 cars and simply walking away as if they'd snapped a pencil.
The rest of the league is still healthy with teams dropping and rising all the time. A few years ago, under Ramos, Spurs were down the bottom, lately its been Villas turn. I'm sure Everton will experience it at some point. Teams like Swansea and Southampton have both shown that good management and sensible decision making can be just as important as big money signings.
Forget Sunderland (and I agree you're a bigger club than us) - just wanted to get your views on Villa.None of those 3, although I'd say all are bigger than Sunderland.
I fear for Everton. They have punched above their weight for many years, thanks mainly to David Moyes astute transfer dealings. Their ground is very old fashioned and lacks any decent hospitality facilities or the potential to add any. They have a couple of saleable assets that will fund the team building in the short term but I suspect that long term, they will struggle to maintain their current status. Villa v Everton is incidently the most played top flight fixture.
Newcastle are not really a big club and I'm not sure why you included them
Spurs have became financially strong and are undoubtedly 2nd tier, along with Liverpool in terms of competing. In terms of club size, I would place them around the same level as Villa & Everton, behind Liverpool but ahead of Newcastle.
Celtic and Rangers may now be playing in the equivilent of a pub league .....but they are the best supported clubs in the country..and as for candle lighters and arse wipes I wonder what their crowds would be like if they won only one cup and nowt else in 60 years? When it comes to support SAFC is in thr big league, and to deny that is idiotic.
Listen mate, the yard stick for shitness is a team's performance against us. You're now officially shit.Just to clarify-The thread is about Villa & I have every right to contribute. Everton and Spurs, these clubs don't sell their best players
Bit of context I hope:
I'm 40 this year, in my time Villa have 1 league, 1 European cup, 3 League cups, a Super cup and the charity shield. (we have won nowt)
My oldest is 18, in his time Villa have won nowt, the same as us.
Older lads will think more of Villa (big club imo) than the kids, and that shows why.
Cridge is still a bit sad like, coming on our forum trying to tell others what to think of his club.
No idea-I'm only going on what was posted yesterday. I don't spend hours trawling through attendances. The bloke yesterday said you averaged 41000 and we averaged just under 39000. Whether you average 2000 more or 5000 is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things-Its hardly a figure to be used in gauging what is termed a big club.
Can you read fella I never said that! What i did say In terms of support..I will say it again for emphasis..in terms of "support" sunderland are in the big league and if you gave the big trophy winning clubs our recent 60 year history i would guess that only liverpool and man u and i hate to say it newcastle would be the clubs garnering our level of support......certainly not villa, chelsea , spurs or arsenal and dont get me started on the joke clubs like stoke southampton west ham ,wba and swansea!Wouldn't deny that.
However , it is a tad preposterous to assert that Sunderland are one of the 2 biggest English football clubs.
waltzed in and paid £24 million who you sold on for £0. you need to wake up full stop. how many empty seats yesterday?Therein lies the problem with you deluded fuckers
Of course we're a bigger club than you are.
You've never done anything in this league, you yo-yo up & down and when you get a decent striker, we waltz in and take him off your hands
A lot of people on here need to wake up & smell the coffee
Something you are quite clearly incapable of.

You are either thick as fuck or are glaringly missing the obvious. Your tier is with the likes of us and the mags.
Says Charlie Nicholas on sky today, don't agree meself not knocking villa with there European history and that but wouldn't say they were bigger
