Aye, that's what I was getting at when I said 'easy option'. I'm not saying there's no pain in supporting our teams etc, merely that you have to take your hat off to the supporters of those clubs who will never ever win anything, and just don't enjoy any of the niceties we have in the top tiers. We lose perspective and in the grand scheme, things really aren't all that bad if you're managing to watch top flight football.

You were in a final in 73 as well-Once every 40 years is about right. We've won 6 cups and a championship in that time
Why will we not get back in the top half? We're streets ahead of you for a start. Lescott will Shore up the defence and if we get a striker (which would have made the difference today), there are no real sides that we should fear outside the top 6 or 7.

Sorry mate, I disagree with you.
I don't think Villa are 'streets ahead' of Sunderland. I think Sunderland are having a torrid time of things at the moment (for PL standards), but Villa were having a mare a couple of seasons ago. I don't see anything at Villa that is streets ahead, just that you're managing to play a bit better at the moment, but it could change within the course of this season alone.
'Streets ahead' is an exaggeration in my opinion. 'Having a better time of it' would be be more realistic.

As much as I love my club, I live too far south for attending every game. So, along with a mate I've traveled with a non league/league 2 side all ower the country, and it was a wonderful experience. Fantastic camaraderie amongst fans, most of whom know each other. Every win was really joyous, and we were always close to the players. Damn it, they've been to Wembley far more times than we can dream of.
I have no intent to change anyones mind-I just enjoy reminding deluded fools of their standing in the grand scheme of things.

Have you watched Sunderland?
They are an accident waiting to happen every time they play. The game was almost entirely played in their half today and it was only a lack of cutting edge that prevented a high score. Villa had several key attacking players out and still managed an onslaught. It was a very 1 sided draw and from what I saw, we re streets ahead of them.
A sale of the club would also release the current restraints which would see the team progress further.
