Yes, that's my point. We sulk because we've lost a couple of games on the trot, and we aren't happy because there's some empty seats in our plush stadiums.
Get your arse down to Rochdale on a wet Wednesday and see a real lot of crap knowing there's no hope for your team ever!
Our 'woes' in the top tiers are sod all.
Yep. My dad was an accrington fan and watched them go bust (and fortunately before he died) get back in the league.
I admired every one of the Exeter fans who travelled up midweek. They know they wont win the cup but came to see their team.

You have slightly bigger and no better support

Villa have been ever presents in the PL-You haven't
Villa have qualified for Europe on numerous occasions-You haven't
Villa have appeared in numerous semi finals and finals-You haven't

Villa will probably get back to competing at the top half of the table. You never have and are never likely to. To compare yourselves to Villa is only adding to your delusions sonny
9000 is not slightly bigger. Our support is much better than yours.
You did fuck all in Europe.
We were in a final two years ago.
Villa will almost certainly not get back to competing at the top half of the table. We have, just ask Peter Reid and Mrs Doubtfire (he has mentioned it once or twice)
You think you are something you are not, that's delusion sonny. I'm 49 m'lord.

Listened to 606 on the way home tonight. 2 Liverpool fans on, Neil from Cheltenham and another whinger with an accent about as Scouse as mine. "Awful performance" "Rodgers should have been sacked in summer" "why didnt we buy (long list of completely unrealistic names)"
Well isnt life shit when you consistently finish outside the top 4! If it gets any worse you might have to support your local team. Liverpool, Spurs and the new breed of Chelsea fan get very bitter if they arent winning.

Size and success are not synonymous. You're confusing the two.
Clubs change size over the years. Wolves aren't the same club they were 50 years ago, are Villa the same as their early 80's hey day?
Sunderland HAVE appeared in numerous finals and semi-finals. Not as many as Villa, but again, is that a measure of size?
Were Man United a smaller club than Liverpool when Liverpool the the highest trophy count?

Villa are in the second most populated city, and yet lag behind lowly Liverpool and certainly well behind Manchester. Do you think you should be considered underachievers?

It's a silly argument. Pointless. It's got nothing to do with football either, not really.

Does any of it really matter?
Both have a mixed set of fortunes through history, and whilst Aston Villa's success have been greater than Sunderland's (in my opinion) - does that make it a 'bigger' club? whatever that means.
Nottingham Forest twice won the European Cup, but does it make it a bigger club than Arsenal?

Fans seem to use this 'bigger' status as though it somehow reflects something, or makes them more worthy. The truth (in my eyes) is that if you're supporting ANY club in the top tiers, you've probably taken a relatively easy option. It's the poor fans paying to watch Accrington, or Carlisle etc in poor conditions, with little to cheer about that deserve all the credit - not fans of big clubs arguing about which football corporation is earning the most money, or has the most customers.
You might as well be arguing over your iPhone vs Android phones.

Ever yset of fans does this, and most fans don't appreciate another set of fans arguing that their club is 'smaller' - but who really gives a toss? What next's - who has the biggest stadium?
What, the team up the road from where you live, that your father, and his father supported. The only thing easy about it is that it's already in your genes, whether you're successful or not. Ask any Leeds or Forest fan how easy it's been for them.

So what if Villa are a bigger f***ing club

So what if we're a bigger f***ing club

We are both shite

Who gives a flying f***ing shite about size?

Does it matter.?

Nother drink please :cool::cool::cool:

Aye, that's what I was getting at when I said 'easy option'. I'm not saying there's no pain in supporting our teams etc, merely that you have to take your hat off to the supporters of those clubs who will never ever win anything, and just don't enjoy any of the niceties we have in the top tiers. We lose perspective and in the grand scheme, things really aren't all that bad if you're managing to watch top flight football.

9000 0ver 1 season, 2000 over 10 seasons
You were in a final in 73 as well-Once every 40 years is about right. We've won 6 cups and a championship in that time
Why will we not get back in the top half? We're streets ahead of you for a start. Lescott will Shore up the defence and if we get a striker (which would have made the difference today), there are no real sides that we should fear outside the top 6 or 7.

No one cares. Fuck off to your board where you can bang on about the great Aston Villa. It's as clear as day that no one here agrees with you, so take your shite elsewhere as you'll change no one's mind here.

Sorry mate, I disagree with you.
I don't think Villa are 'streets ahead' of Sunderland. I think Sunderland are having a torrid time of things at the moment (for PL standards), but Villa were having a mare a couple of seasons ago. I don't see anything at Villa that is streets ahead, just that you're managing to play a bit better at the moment, but it could change within the course of this season alone.

'Streets ahead' is an exaggeration in my opinion. 'Having a better time of it' would be be more realistic.

As much as I love my club, I live too far south for attending every game. So, along with a mate I've traveled with a non league/league 2 side all ower the country, and it was a wonderful experience. Fantastic camaraderie amongst fans, most of whom know each other. Every win was really joyous, and we were always close to the players. Damn it, they've been to Wembley far more times than we can dream of.

I have no intent to change anyones mind-I just enjoy reminding deluded fools of their standing in the grand scheme of things.

Right-o mate, we get the picture. You think we're deluded, no one here thinks Aston Villa are anything special. That was established from the off.

If this were a pub, pal, you'd have been thrown out the door head first for being a boring fucker gannin' on about the same shite that no one cares about.

Go back to your board instead of being a pest 'round here.

Have you watched Sunderland?

They are an accident waiting to happen every time they play. The game was almost entirely played in their half today and it was only a lack of cutting edge that prevented a high score. Villa had several key attacking players out and still managed an onslaught. It was a very 1 sided draw and from what I saw, we re streets ahead of them.

A sale of the club would also release the current restraints which would see the team progress further.
