naw, they're fairly well stocked in midfield. de jong, wijnaldum, sissoko, perez as attacking midfielder.
Perez is a striker but you could maybe add Tiote, he played his best football under McClaren.

On a serious note though it will be difficult to criticise the bloke will it not if, as he's proving, he's willing to put his money where his mouth is after what he said at the end of last season?
The Mags will find a way if they lose the next derby.

I have a feeling this lad could turn out to be their Jozy. Just watched some of his vids on YouTube and Altidores look more impressive. Plus if he does score and does his goal celebration he going to get in trouble. Also worth mentioning his international scoring record which will probably closer to his premier league record is 1 in 10

Disagree with this. He should be letting the club spend the cash it generates, hardly warrants praise. Half a season as a rudderless ship after Pardew left because he thought he was safe from relegation shows his true colours. This talk of now wanting to win something is nothing more than PR, and these signings now aren't a sudden show of ambition, they're necessity due to 1. the shit show of last season and 2. the amount of cash the rest of the league is spending.

I keep getting tagged in threads on a Sunderland board about topics relating to Newcastle, you's don't care though I bet.

Glad it looks like we've finally managed to get this done, hes a tremendous talent, and I would compare him to Diego Costa only better.

Just need a couple of good solid CB's (not injury prone has beens like Kaboul, Brown and O'shea and we should have a decent team to start the season with, just wish we had brought in a bit of a better manager to coach the fuckers, but McClaren is a significant upgrade on Pardew/Carver.

That's right up there with the best drivel this board has produced. Well done.

Take Williamson out of our defence and it improves by monumental proportions, as long as hes not a guaranteed starter we'll be alright at the back, Janmaat is a cracking right back, Haidara is improving by the game and Coloccini while needing replaced can still do a job alongside a decent CB, whether thats Lascelles or hopefully a new CB is yet be seen.

Its quite obviously intended that way, but because you lot so desperately want to believe the "delusion" stereotype you seem to have over looked this.

Unless you genuinely believe I think hes better than Diego Costa?

 Messi surely?

Couldn't give a fuck about the deluded stuff tbh but all I can go on is what I read. Good to see you don't think he is though, well done.

Well, he´s spending at least.. Strikers are often the most difficult/expensive players to sign

He was an attacking mid In Spain,he got shoved up front for us cos we had no options, but I'm sure you knew that anyway

I don't care where he played when he was 16, he's a striker now and will remain one

He's not,he's an attacking mid,but we played him out of position
Ayoze Perez joined Newcastle United in June 2014 from Spanish Segunda Division side Tenerife. The striker made his league debut for the Magpies as a substitute against Manchester City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season. Perez bagged his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur two months later. He has also been capped at U-21 level for Spain.

And

Most other sites probably say he's a striker too but I'll believe you

Fancy a little wager on Pardew finishing well above Mclaren?

It's funny isn't it, they hounded Pardew out and then realised he was actually a damned good manager (though seemingly an odious prick). That doesn't matter now as they have won the winner of the sack race at sports day in the form of Steve McLaren. That in itself was a bit of a coup given all the clubs that were in for him to manage them.

Funny that. When they loved him and he was linked to the England job there was ridicule on here. He became damned good on here when sackpardew.com launched. Weird
