Wouldn't say it makes us shit. I think they look similar signings. Both look good on paper.
 

What I don't understand, and I'm a fairly simple man so that might be it, but keep reading. They can easily triple their income from the French or Dutch leagues to the Premier League. If this player for instance came to Sunderland and played his heart out for a decade, he'd be a legend and a rich legend at that. He would make more money than normal people can dream of. Instead he goes to club where he makes maybe a bit more money to sit on the bench and then he retires and nobody even remembers him. I just don't get it. I bet this is why I wasn't good enough at football. I think you have to be a greedy illoyal twat to get anywhere.

This signing has gone, we all have to move on from it now. I just hope we are going for the same calibre players in the next week or so because I can't stand another season of struggling on. The main thing is we have a quality manager lets hope he can get them tip top.

Lets keep it recent, they were one game from being relegated last season, so by that reasoning, I think it's reasonable to assume, "bottom end premier club", bearing in mind you only deal in facts.
 
Time to lock this now and move onto the 90 page of another player. We missed out and have to get over it, we should of been in for him given the quality we need in midfield but with us in debt it was always going to be difficult. Other clubs are looking at high profile players while our philosophy is sign young talent with prospects to come into the first team, I don't seem to confident about that right now.

I agree. I couldn't see him going there but due to relatively recent history you can see why they would be considered a bigger draw than us. We are perennial strugglers, the mags are going that way as well but still have a little but of credit in bank is suggest.
 
I will leave you now MrJ, for what it's worth never heard much of Wijnaldum and if Dick isn't too bothered about him then it does not bother me too much, onwards and upwards for me.

Genuinely chuffed with this transfer. Hope it does signal a change in Intent and that we do attempt to push on.

I was excited last season at this point though so I will take it with a pinch of salt.
