very very Jardinesque
No matter who we sign, no matter how good they are some posters will point blank refuse to say anything positive
Do you see the irony in your statement?
It's very easy to find negatives within the club at the minute.
It's not as if we've been on a bad run of form, we've been in 4 consecutive relegation battles ffs.

Actions speak louder than words. And the club need to start taking action and signing these quality players that we were promised.

You interpreted it to suit yourself (predictably as well), did you not read the first bit when I said "refuse to say anything positive". There are people on both side of the divide whether they be eternally pessimist or forever optimist.
Can you see the irony yet?

I'm going to sound old here but this place is certainly not what it was. Absolutley infested with WUMs, Mags and shitehawks. Heck, we've even got a Mag pretending to be Leicester fan AND paying to be a contributor to come on and do the wumming! No wonder the mods won't ban them, especially if they're chucking money in the coffers.
It's a function of the lips-sealed-tightly regime now in place and born out of everyone's frustration. I'll finally give up this board when someone asks if we're gonna sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic.....oh, hang on, I mean "goodbye".

Thanks for that. I don't really care about the challenges, of course. People have the right to be wrong and it is nice that they feel able to exercise their rights in this way.
Funnily enough, for all your verbosity you seem perfectly capable of being wrong yourself;-)

"Wij You believe it, mags sign Dutch Star"

"Schteeve wets himself as he finds it hard to contain his exxitement at world class capture"

"By George inio, Wijnaldum a fully fledged magpie"

"We had no interest, echo exclusive, more to follow soon"

"MASSIVE transfer news coming out of Sunderland #SAFC" Soccer sauce 96 hours ago

Maybe when the club start to show a tiny bit of ambition then people can praise the club, same old posters this week trying to big up the likes of Coates, Matthews, Hoilett, Matt Phillips etc, f***ing hell man. None of these players would improve us, not one iota.
there is a big difference between praising the club and having an optimistic outlook. You lambaste people for "praising the club" yet you criticise everything they do.
Like I said earlier, there are two divides, you are just the polar opposite of those who big every thing up. I can only presume that you can't see the irony in that
And by the way, Coates improved the side considerably towards the end of the season, so even if nothing else it has been "one iota"

I've got no choice but to criticise them, the last few years, both on and off the pitch has been nothing short of an utter shambles. From shambolic appointments of Di Canio, De Fanti et al to absolute howlers in the boardroom from Margaret Byrne, believe you me I'd love nothing more than club start to be ran properly and us being successful on the pitch. How anyone can just think everything is rosy and point blank refuse to criticise is beyond me. Here we are now, a month from the season starting and still the team is no better than last season despite all the mouthing off of "5 or 6 quality players", the club are only interested in finishing 17th, no ambition whatsoever to do anything else, I'm absolutely convinced by that.

Please let me know how many times you've seen Byram play and Matthews play. Also can you tell me exactly what makes Byram better ability wise.

Exactly. Bigger price = better player in the land of the idiots

If course there is a correlation, but no one has infinite funds - you do better by spending more wisely than your opponents and by employing a proper coach.
We have done the latter, let's give the former a chance

I've seen Byram play 82 times and Matthews 56 times, but I did miss the start of one game (leaves on the satellite dish and Mrs Clueless was reluctant to go up the ladder in the snow to clear them away). Did you know that 83% of all statistics are made up on the spot ?

I'll tell you why I think Byram is the better player, once you've explained the criteria for accepting evidence of high quality players being signed.
I think you are a complete nutter

You are wrong, of course they want to finish higher.
Mistakes have been made but can you not just hope that Dicks vast experience will help the situation to improve. If you have no hope of that then (serious question) why do you bother?

we've mostly all criticised them at some point but again you keep saying people think "its all rosy". I don't know how many people think it all rosy, but they hold out hope that the tide will turn. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it never will. It also doesn't mean that since the last few years have been utter shambles that everything they do from now on will be an utter shambles
My point was and still is, that you are criticising people from having a rosy outlook whilst you have a permanent dark one, see above to evidence that. There really is no difference between those that may have rose tinted specs and you, by your own admission, can't see an end to the shambles
A lot can happen in a month , but what else can we do? Well we can criticise the club if they don't improve the squad by deadline day, that's what we can do. A re occurring theme I agree

Wijnaldums quote of the day "Newcastle is a beautiful club" must of been pissed when saying that then, someone needs to tell him about the 5 defeats in a row.

The transfer market hasn't properly started yet man. If it was a day before the start of the season, I'd agree but a month?

I like how The Chronicle say the ball is in Newcastle's court because Wijnaldum came out and said "I need to wait until the clubs agree a fee before I can talk to someone"

'Someone' could be anyone; us, mags, PSG. Unless I'm mistaken, they've posted another piece of bollocks.

The club is blatantly trying to bring players in. They're doing all they can, but still some won't and can't see that and the familiar criticism starts. I'm not saying they haven't deserved it over the years at times, but I'm confident they're doing all they can, within their means right now. Like you say, if you don't have hope, then why bother? What do you get out of it otherwise or where is the enjoyment in it?
