I'd like to think he'd be more influential than Sess mind. On his day Sess was class, those days were infrequent. This lad seems to have the pedigree to be able to do it on a more regular basis. Hope we get him. As others on here have already said, the link coming from Holland is encouraging.
 
Seems like exactly the type of player we need - someone to drive play forward and give our midfield some dynamism. Borini did something approaching this in fits and starts, we've been very static and predictable since.

Buying anyone from Holland is always a bit of a risk - his YouTube vid looks very similar to Altidore's, believe it or not - but Advocaat should be able to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I don't doubt it, plus Altidore had already had a failed Prem season under his belt. It's generally Eredivisie strikers who fail in the Prem, plus there are a load of examples of players doing well - Suarez, Van Nistlerooy etc.
 
I bought him as a young kid on an old footy manager (2010 possibly?) and he turned out to be one of the best players in the world and helped lead us to title glory so it's a definite yes from me. If Dick is reading this and want's any pointers on getting the best out of him I'd be happy to help in anyway I can.
