Whats used as a marker?
Don't take the mick.Whats used as a marker?
Horswill?
we're 200m from the summit
how do you know
there's green boots
why not?His body can't be just lying there man
The body. It's known as Green Boots cave. Most mountaineers dump spent oxygen bottles there to switch to fresh bottles as they're not far off the summit.Whats used as a marker?

At that altitude anybody trying to recover it would probably die in the attempt. The mountain is covered in bodies. His body can't be just lying there man

they reckon there's something like 200 bodies scattered around the place. not to mention god knows how many bits from climbers caught in avalanches or rockfalls. (before the events of this weekend)Seems wrong
Granted it will be chew on getting him down
same here... i'm a bit of a tw*t at times(i know this to be fact) ... but i'm not at that level or tw*tage... even if staying with him until he passed over(as rescue would be hyper tough)Yep. Read about it recently. Everyone claiming they thought it was another corpse and or claimed it was too dangerous to themselves to help. They just wanted to reach the summit IMO. It's not too far from where he slumped down dying.a
I don't think I could trek past a fellow climber and just leave him to die like.

I might start crying
This link is a good read. Took decades to discover the body but when they did there was evidence he reached the summit years before the first official successful attempt. Body is still there as well.Canny sad that like
I might start crying
really sad story associated to that one, guys lying there dying and people are ignoring his plight to "summit".

If you attempt Everest you have to understand that there is a 1 in 10 chance you die and a 10 in 10 chance if that you can't get out of the death zone under your own steam, you're going to die there.it's a really sad story like, this part on the wiki was worse imo though
David Sharp
In 2006, British mountaineer David Sharp was found in a hypothermic state in Green Boots' Cave by climber Mark Inglis and his party. Inglis controversially continued his ascent without offering assistance, and Sharp died of extreme cold some hours later. Around three dozen other climbers would have passed by the dying man that day; it has been suggested that those who noticed him mistook him for Green Boots, and therefore paid little attention.[2][9]
