Not exactly sure why people want to be trendy and post dull comments.

It's just a bit of harmless fun. It it makes the national news - excellent. The UK will know our rivalry is real. Better this than fighting in Fawcett street in match day.

Who am I to say to people on how to spend a fiver or tenner?

More chance of him hitting the Manchester to Amsterdam klm flight
I go to most of the away games and what crops up all the time is 'your fans are better than Newcastles'. Doing stuff like this damages that reputation that is very hard earned over years and years and I care about that because I go away and I talk to home fans at other clubs on a regular basis. We do have a standing in the game and its clearly more down to our fans than our team and our fans are respected up and down the country for our sportsmanship and friendliness. Stuff like this is neither sporting or friendly.
i don't see it as a nationwide popularity competition between us and them. It's great to see us turn them over and that's as far as it goes. We don't have much to shout about this season so let's stick it reet up their noses

Contrary to the mags being offended by it, they will use it as ammunition in years to come.

Well IMO they can use it as ammunition as much as they bloody well like and it will still remind them of the time we beat them 5 times in a row ...ammunition??? its like us pelting them with pasties ..they would eat it up....btw your opinion is very much in the minority and i think i'm right in saying everyone seems to be sick of hearing your drum now.

It appears that people with a problem with this prank are lads who arnt from Sunderland,is it they don't want to suffer any backlash from any skunks within their lives /family?
As of us lads from the town really only deal with the odd Geordie at work and are immune from any pisstaking as all freinds /neighbours and family are safc .

"Backlash"...

Aye, that's it mate. It's the backlash I can't stand.

Here's my tuppence worth.

Even though this is an amusing idea I don't think it should go ahead.

Firstly, we may still be relegated.

Secondly, they've suffered enough (just because of all the sh*t they've pulled over the years doesn't mean we need to sink to that level)

Cheer up man!

If we do get relegated do you think the mags will take the piss any more because of this stunt? We would get max effort from them regardless.

Make hay wile the sun shines, let's give them as much grief as possible

They've suffered enough? give over, after all the shit they've given us over the years. They deserve everything they get

As for other fans and media, fuck them i don't really care what they think. I'd bet a lot of other fans think its funny anyway, which is exactly what it is meant to be

Cheap stunt by a bunch of unfunny cybertarts. Will barely be able to see it from the stands anyway. They're not going to allow a 500ft flypast just so your banner can be read.

I can't imagine for 1 min if the boot was on the other foot ,that there would be some mags complaining that this would make them look bad ,fgs its banter just lighten up ffs.

I think you seriously underestimate other football fans. They WILL notice and they WILL think its cheap and pathetic and as a result our fans will become err like the mags in their view.

Take the higher ground, be the bigger man and leave it be.

The vast majority of other fans will either have a laugh about it for thirty seconds or won't even hear about it. I've heard about things like this before, I think (but it registered so little that I can't really remember) that Burnley did it to Blackburn and I thought it was mildly amusing that aesk the Blackburn fans would have been irritated in the ground.

I don't know what kind of football fans you knock around with but most would think it's a childish laugh or wouldn't have an opinion, it's not going to sully our name in the minds of any more than a few boring twats

this is a brillaint idea, stop being so down on things for fuck sake

Please make one black with " just divvint understand" on :lol:

Now now we're massive lads fans here:rolleyes:
I know that marra. That's why I wrote that when someone said the mag protest plane was taking off from there.
