Would you start him at West Ham? We desperately need him to be in the right frame of mind for the rest of the season, think it will be him that keeps us up if anyone

Said it on another thread that he seems the type of player who needs other people to tell him how good he is. If the team and management are around him this week doing that then there'll be no problem.

Plus there's the possibility that playing football might take his mind off everything else that's going on. I'd start him this weekend and the fans will let him know how much they want him back.

He's going to have to be mentally strong and be prepared to take a lot of shit from the oppositions fans, I'm not sure if he will be ready for Saturday. Hopefully he will be sorted for the scum game

I'd start him. The episode clearly hasn't affected him as we might have thought (the wording of the club statement suggests it was his representatives that were pushing for the suspension to end) and he's been keeping himself fit so why not?

Personally, I have a really bad feeling about the whole thing. He is guaranteed to receive dog's abuse and I've no idea where his head will be at the moment, let alone his fitness levels. I hope it doesn't turn out to be an ill-advised desperate throw of the dice by the club.
Footballers will be well used to this.

Maybe try to switch the linesmen to officiate in the opposite half if he's a sub against The Mags. Keep him and the other subs down The South Stand end so he can hear all the support rather than down the end of those knuckle draggers baying for blood.

As others have said, it totally depends on his state of mind. Let him make the decision.

I've seen a few saying they think he's quite a weak minded character, I'm not sure about that, he's repeatedly done the business in the most hostile atmosphere our players face at St James'. He also performed well for England and Man City in high pressure situations. I know this is a unique situation mind, so I hope no decision is made lightly.

Has he been training by himself or just done fuck all since he got suspended?

I'd leave him out this weekend, a full ground of west ham bellends giving him stick might do too much damage for his first game back. I would include him in the scum game for sure though, any shite they dribble out can be drown out by our support like we did against Villa. I know our away support is 1st class and would back him anyways, just think an away game where he's gonna get mauled by the fans a bit much

Not the first sportsman to be accused of such a thing, doubt he'll be the last. It's been a few years since a story like this came out.
